Honest to God, I can't hardly stand this. If Bradford County wasn't damn near in New York already, I'd invite myself up to join you fellows muzzle loading. We just don't have those deer numbers like that down here anymore. But then, I doubt that you could understand my southern accent being from almost below the Mason-Dixon line and I'm sure I couldn't understand you boy's New York accents.

Hey we are Bradford county rednecks not New Yorkers. And we is educated rednecks so don’t try to confuse us with that New York accent stuff😜

I must agree with Acorn in that many of the upper tier areas of PA are becoming more & more New Yorkie types. Us Southern Boys near the Mason Dixon Line are more of the good ole boy types not afraid to tramp in the muck plus don't head to dem warmer climates when the first snowflake arrives!!!

Probably one more flintlock hunt in me for 20/21 season tomorrow. Good luck to those venturing out. Weather looks pretty good for the last Saturday. Cloudy, mid 30s. Snow flurries. Wish we had a skiff of snow but...........

I'm thinking I may actually go out tomorrow. First time this flintlock season. I have two 2D tags....certainly not gonna fill both. But there is a "promise" of an inch of snow and I love flintlock in the snow!! I'll see how I feel tomorrow am!!

Not to get off the subject but how did you, and the crew, make out in bear season, maybe I missed your report? Hope those steep mountains around Renovo didn't turn you off to the hunting in the area.

Yea, yea...it's easy to type how many you've killed. Harvesting a deer with a front stuffer rock lock rifle is quite an accomplishment. As Dave would ask, where are the PICTURES JJ?? Heck, we killed seven today and tomorrow we're going to kill thirteen!!!

I've spent more time this year trying to find areas that have a decent deer density with terrain that I can negotiate than I have hunting. Since my stroke seven years ago, areas with laurel and rock are out. I've been hunting with flintlocks since 1973 and have been quite successful. I'd just like to see deer that I can put in front of my sights. I was out a few days this week and I'll be out tomorrow and Monday...Lord willing.

You would think but buzz hunts rifle and we spend most of our time babysitting him. 😜. I really think what has happened this year is the deep snow has helped us when I thought it was going to hurt us. Many properties around us have created deer safe zones and don’t allow people to hunt so when we start hunting they hole up in those areas after a few days. Problem is there is very little food in those ares so this year when getting food is tough they come back to the woods around our fields. I’m just glad we are killing some of them. Population is way to high

Made it about 10 miles this morning but decided to turn around and head back home. Thick freezing fog here with a light snow coming down on top of it. Roads were downright treacherous. Wasn't worth it after I began sliding on the highway and seeing cars in ditches. Plan to sit in a tree this evening closer to home with the bow.

No snow when I got up today. Bagged the idea of flintlock. This will be the first year I haven't gone flintlock hunting in 20+ years.
OTOH.....I sorta got my "hunt deer in the snow" day back in the 2nd week of rifle when I took that doe with my 38-55.
So....when I got up this am I had a coffee and went to my garage and began my re-do of my T\C flintlock. I'm gonna do some custom work on it to make it more to my liking.

We got skunked today. We had 2 misses and a fair amount of miss fires with the damp air. I had my grandson with me today. We saw near 30 deer but when a shot presented itself both guns misfired. One last chance on Monday then will have to start crop damage killing
