It was a mere anecdotal example. Take it how you wish.
And I've said it in prior posts, and I'll say it again, PA still has a SUPER STRONG whitetail deer hunting tradition. It's why we are STILL 2nd in the nation in license sales, and STILL close to 1 Million hunters. Not sure why the narrative is always the same regarding PA hunting. It's a false narrative.... again. Is it what it was in the 50's, 60's 70's ? Of course not. But it's still damn close.
Glass half empty syndrome.

I think SUPER STRONG is pushing it Brother. The woods are empty after the first day and it didn't used to be like that. We're down to around 500k actual deer hunters and most don't hunt all that hard. That's not a slam it's just the way it is.For probably at least least the last 7 or 8 years, the woods during deer season are eerily quiet.Yes,some kids still do hunt but not the way we used to,not even close.

Look at the first column (state) and second column (license holders) www.fws.gov/wsfrprograms/subpages/licenseinfo/Natl%20Hunting%20License%20Report%202021.pdfI would think that those numbers include lifetime Sr., but do not know fore sure. Everything is relative, and we all have opinions. My "strong" and your "strong" may be a matter of how we each look at the term in a given scenario. To me, those numbers are strong. I can now bench press 82.5 lbs. My wife, about 52.8 lbs. Am I SUPER STRONG, STRONG, or..... ? By the way. That USFWS site numbers are what is used to distribute PR funds if I'm not mistaken ? I asked quite a few times, in quite a few venues, why there is a disparity between USFWS numbers and PGC numbers. Have not had an answer yet ? Could it be PGC does not include SR. Lifetime in their yearly sales ?

I'll also add. I find it hard to believe that 450,000 PA hunters buy a license, yet do not hunt deer in the state.

Well since you let the cat out of the bag, Dave. Circa 1958. Ward scolded "The Beav", and sent him to his room. After supper that evening, Ward went to the Beave's room and let him have it again. Yes Dave, prompting June the next morning to say... "Ward darling, don't you think you were a little too hard on the Beaver last night !" DON'T BLAME ME FELLAS ! Blame limbernoodle... and Dave.

Leave it to limbernoodle to hijack and divert a perfectly fine thread.

Fair = Balanced = Equitable. Not a big fan of equity. I've been hearing that word a lot lately.

I for one, would rather see the PGC go back to a Monday start for both Bear and Buck rifle season, they have royally screwed up both of those seasons. If the commissioners had any amount of sense they would have put the open Sunday on the first weekend of a Monday start for Buck.

Not sure how vast a difference there is from a straight-wall cartridge to a rifled barrel shotgun slug ? Perhaps some added distance on the cartridge ? But, the premise is perty much the same. The recoil sure isn't
