Not sayin I'm in the market but what if I were looking for a 6.5 Creedmoor in a bolt action price range $1,000 or less? What rifles would be amongst your favorite candidates and why???

I have one in a Ruger American Predator. I've shot 1/4 inch and 5/16th inch groups with it. Highly accurate. Don't like it because the barrel is pretty thick and weighted forward. They didn't have it in the standard American when I bought it. If I buy another, it will be in the standard. A bit lighter as well. I will say this, it shoots about anything I put down the bore. I have not shot factory loads tho. It's just been a pleasure to shoot. Oh, that's the gun with my last buck in my profile pic pennsylvaniasportsmanforum.com/thread/11083/end-notch

Sounds like a real shooter Dutch!! A while back wile up at my camp I ran down to Europtics in Montoursville and they had some Bergara B-14 Hunters which sorta caught my eye. Think they were around $700. Only experience I have with Bergara is with their barrels used on CVA MLs which I was quite impressed.

I had a Bergara Timber. It was too chunky for my taste.

Kimber Hunters make me want one. Everytime I handle one I have to talk myself out of it. Didnt see any at Shydas today and they usually have them?

Nice especially at 5lb 9oz!! In a 6.5 likely recoil would be lite too.

Those Tang safeties are sweet, and just love the ultra lite. About 10 years ago I saw one going at an auction . It went for $800. My brother has one in 250 Savage. Does shoot for crap, but kills deer

The Ruger Ultra Lights are seldom accurate and the 257 Robert's was the worst of the lot. Ruger gave up on the Ultras because of all the accuracy problems.

I bought my beloved 6.5 Swede in 2009 and each year it's becoming increasingly more difficult to find factory ammo loaded up to optimum Swede performance levels. Right now I'm using factory Norma PH 156 grain Oryx ammo(2,560 Muzzle FPS) and love it...but currently try to find it....almost impossible??? Bought a couple boxes from Europtics before hunting season but been on backorder since then. Midway, MidSouth, Brownells, Graffs, Natchez, Cheaper than Dirt etc etc all out of stock. I was shooting factory Hornady Superformance 140 grain SST/Interlocks(2,735 Muzzle FPS) and liked their performance on deer but leaned towards the Norma 156 Oryx bonded ammo for bear. Like staying with one bullet for both. I was into reloading years back(got rid of all eqt, chrony etc) and at this point happy to stay with premium factory fodder. Price no concern as I'm not a high volume cf shooter. I'm in love with the 6.5 caliber so looking down the road thinking Creed....plus mebbie doing a lil dreaming too!

At this point, no shortage of Creed ammo or guns. I think it's here to stay, at least for our lifetimes.
I love my 260, but reload for that. Sweet gun

Loggy....I dunno if you reload, but I load for every caliber I own except the little 32acp, and my 9mm. Factory ammo is to cheap to consider reloading.
However, for the trusty 6.5x55 Swede there are load recipe's for modern action rifles that will push a 140gr. to 2,800+fps while keeping pressures within SAMI spec's.
I use to load 'em with RL-22 but switched to H-4350 as it provides exceptional groups using a Hornady ELD bullet.
