Thanks Doug. Everything I’ve been reading on them has been great!! Weight isn’t that much of a concern to me as I mostly stand hunt. Looking for a solid action coupled with reliability and accuracy.

If weight isn't a factor, there's tons of options.Find an action that you like, like a Rem 700 and have one built.

Whatever you go with, one thing I hate seeing is short action chamberings in long actions. Buddy of mine has a Savage 308 on a long action platform. I am partial to Brownings myself. Love the original Abolts and Abolt IIs. The AB3 is a much cheaper gun. The Xbolts are sweet

I had several Abolts and they were all great rifles except for a stainless stalker in 7mm-08.It was just a lemon and I couldn't get it to shoot any better than 2.5 inches with anything I fed it.I sent it back to Browning and they refused to shoot it until they put a factory trigger back in.Problem was,I bought it brand new a month earlier and never even touched the trigger, let alone replaced it lol.I paid them $80 to replace a factory trigger for another factory trigger. They sent me the gun back with a 1 1/2" 3 shot group at 50 yards and said it was within specs.I ended up having a gunsmith glass bed it but it still never shot within my specs so I sold it.

Never understood why one would want a short action round in a long action platform. I see it all of the time though. I guess some people don't care or they don't know enough about guns to even know the difference or why a shot action has some benefits.

Years back I had a 7MM Mag A-Bolt SS and liked it. Was reading some good reviews on the newer X-Bolts.

When Browning came out with their new X Bolt Platform, the AB3 became Brownings budget line. Buddy of mine has one. It is certainly not the same quality as the previous A Bolt and A Bolt II. Basically, the AB3 is meant to compete with budget rifles from other manufacturers. If a budget rifle is what you want, the AB3 competes well with the others.

Well, today I made a mistake by stopping by my ole Browning dealer(a Platinum Dealer)this evening after babysitting the 3 Grandkids. He happens to be 1/2 mile from my Daughter's house where I keep the kido's which ain't good!! Well, looks like I'm an owner of a Browning X-Bolt Stalker 6.5 Creedmoor(pic below)!! His price was actually lower than any of the online dealer prices I've found. I previously bought my Browning Gold Stalker Semi 3.5" 12 ga plus my 9MM Browning Hi-Power from him. Great to give a local dealer my business. Joe's sites is not real up to date but least contact info etc is there: Artistic Edges

It's one of those scary black rifles! LOL

Now playing musical chairs with my scopes. Moving a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5X10 from my TC ProHunter ML to Browning X-Bolt, moving a Leupold VX-II 2-7 from my Custom White Rifle Super 91 ML .504 to TC ProHunter ML. Sooooo.....my White Rifles Super 91 .504 Caliber is left standing & now needs a scope!! Sorta thought there would be someone left standing when the music finally stopped!! lol

Was gonna buy the Browning One Piece Integrated Base/Rings designed specifically for the X-Bolt but learned that Talley made them. Saved $12 by getting the Talley. Each base has 4 screws making it a rock solid platform perfectly fitting the X-Bolt's receiver.

Shortly after Wednesday, April 15!!!That is simply cruel! I know Dutch...hard on me!! Till 4/15 helping my ole CPA firm with some corporation/partnership tax work 3-4 days a week plus keeping youngest Daughter's 3 kids(still in diapers) the other 3 days helps to keep an ole man young but draggin azz a lil!! lol To add icing on the cake...oldest Daughter went into labor yesterday to add #4 Grandkid(her first) to the gang!! She's currently in Lancaster General's Womens & Babies Hospital. Currently praying all goes well. Could be any time now.
