I'll be out most of the season chasing them. Mostly in Washington and Beaver Counties. Good Luck to everyone.

Too many doctor appointments for both of us after Christmas. I may be lucky to get a few days out at camp. And this is about the best time to be out in the woods.

I will be out. Thinking I might have a few guys for the first Saturday. Then my cousin is planning a get together the second or last Saturday. The last two years I haven't been able to get anybody to go. It will be nice to hunt with a group again if everyone doesn't back out.
Got a couple 2A tags for flintlock and a 2B tag for archery in Allegheny County. Season runs till the end of January there.

I'll be back up and the "Hundred Acre Wood" to attempt to fill a doe tag with the new .54 Cal flinter.

My brother has the week off. Guess he's going to try to get a Fisher with what time remains, then taking the flinter out.

Got the 50 cal ready to go, doubt I'll get to the 45? Since I still have a buck tag this year, will be out at our club after Christmas. Plenty of deer, just need one to cooperate for a change. No doe tag last year because I killed a buck at camp. Haven't gotten out the past two years.
Winter of 2016 they were putting up the new clubhouse building. All my stuff was in the truck. Best few days we had after Christmas and New Years, I was working on getting the construction crew water and a few other chores. Never loaded the rifle that year.
Wish we had 'til the end of January here? Just about every year we get a few days or more of rain to louse things up for flinter seasons.

I have been after the BOC to extend the late season statewide to end on the same day it does in the SRAs. I will be sending over my wishes prior to the January meeting. Have you recently told the board you wish to see the late season extended?

Often repeated my feelings on a longer flintlock season to Commissioners, back when I knew most of them personally and generally had a good rapport with them. And to no avail, so guess I gave it up due to a lack of interest on their part?
I now only know two of 'em well enough to keep harping at them about something. But I may start in again anyway, because I'm older, crankier and far less diplomatic now?

There was a brief period of time when I measured my responses and reactions, to the point that at least three or more people thought I was being somewhat diplomatic. It never really took hold with me, as a more effective means of dealing with others.
Okay, maybe it was only one or two people and lasted mere minutes? Got over it years ago and am much happier now.

Just back from Williamsport. My brothers brakes gave him trouble. Ran wife's truck up so he could tow trailer to camp and get some trapping and hunting in. Dropped his truck at a garage up there. One vacation saved.
I haven't had one in well over a year....

Every year I'm gonna take my old 45 caliber T/C Hawken off the pegs on the stone wall in our basement, do some needed TLC and hunt with it. Here we are again on the cusp of another flinter season and the Hawken is still up there, gathering dust, but looking great as an ornament. So, another year afield with an ugly, but very accurate synthetic-stocked 50 caliber flintlock short rifle. Maybe someday?
