Wow,well done Dave.I couldn't do that.If I ever tried, someone would get a good deal on a barrel, lock and some hardware because the stock would get snapped about one day into it.

Ha ha ha!!.....When I decided to do this, I kept a mindset of..."It's going to take time......don't set a must finish deadline." I did just that. All the hot weather and rain we had this summer kept me indoors in my "climate controlled" (aka....air conditioned) garage. Accordingly, I got it done much earlier that I thought I would.

I went down to the range this am to shoot the new flinter. It was very hot 'n humid so I stayed less than an hour. But, I got these 5 shots on the target at 50 yards! I didn't touch my sights at all. I took the last target shot off-hand....and yes....it is the closest to the bulls-eye. (No Bull!) I took two shots at the clubs 100 yard metal hangers and rang 'em both times!! The load was 80gr FFF Goex. I can likely get the group closer via trying different loads....but it's to hot for that today!!

Yeah.....it's MOD for sure and as REM700 said....not to bad for the first crack outta the gate. I recovered 3 patches and they were fine.....not burnt thru or torn.
I know that new barrels need a good 50 to 100 shots down the tube before the machine edges get round. I know these Green Mt. barrels are of good quality. The one on my .50 Cal T\C can shoot very well.
