Testy Testy aren't we ? I don't dislike bowhunting a'tall. It's a great time of year to go after a targeted buck of course. What I do dislike, is the BOC/PGC affording EVERY stinking added opportunity to that group of hunters, and discounting all others for the most part. PERIOD ! And my comment about 11 year old gals being able to handle and manage quite well, a compound, was only a follow-up to you stating that crossbows got your 11 yr old great niece in the bowhunting game. Many young gals were in the game at a young age with compounds. I went to school with a champeen bow gal, and her niece was a champeen to boot. Your wife knows her well apparently, as she made a comment about her years ago on another site. Somehow you "feel" as if I was railing on you or the young gal ? That said, I don't care if you care that I care that.............. DANG, I FEEL LIKE EDDIE MURPHY ! NORTON !

YA RIGHT ! Sure they will. There would b screams of bloody murder. Elmerton Avenue would be stormed. LOL
By the way. The more seasons that wear on, the more I feel like there shouldn't be a specific season for anything. That's right. We hear all the time, hunt with whatever weapon suits your fancy. Welp, I pretty much agree now. From Oct. through Jan., if you like a compound, hunt with it. A x-bow, hunt with it. A flinter, hunt with it. An inline, a 30-30, a longbow..........
Can you say, LEAD BALLOON! ?

What I do dislike, is the BOC/PGC affording EVERY stinking added opportunity to that group of hunters, and discounting all others for the most part. PERIOD ! Almost every other season has been expanded with the exception of grouse and turkey. Rifle deer had 2 days added for bucks and 10 for antlerless deer. Bear has ballooned. Small game and pheasant expanded. Flintlock expanded. Inline season created.

I KNEW that was coming. Took a minute or two longer than I thought though. lol You know as well as I do Ridge, what I'm getting at. ALL MEANINGFUL opportunity, is given to archery. Archery is the golden child. Period... End. Again, going back to my statement above, I don't dislike bowhunting. I dislike that they are being incessantly catered to at every turn, and no other group seems to be. Your response to that, is to send an email to Elmerton. Well, that's fine, but like I said, these BOC members are appointed to do a job serving the state in wildlife management. They should have the acuity to recognize vast disparities amongst the different groups of hunters and hunting types, and level out the playing field some ? And ya... I know all the usual retorts to that that are coming too. So save your fingers. I get it.

I LOVE The Eagles, limbernoodle. However, the singer of that song, Randy Meisner, now lives in a trailer park. Don Felder made the bands sound with his 12-string, and he's been FIRED for decades. And Glenn Frye is, well.... dead. So, RIP Eagles.

The fact that Dutch's nieces got into hunting with a crossbow sort of proves the point of "how do you get younger people into hunting".
Not all youngsters have the strength to pull a compound back and hold it on target. Not all youngsters like the idea of the recoil of a 30-30....or even the loudness of a .243.
Get 'em interested when young and they will grow into hunting with other gear.

ALL MEANINGFUL opportunity, is given to archery. Archery is the golden child. Archery was expanded 11% when they added the extra week in the rut. Antlered rifle buck was expanded 17% when they added the two days. Antlerless rifle was expanded 333%.

I got all my grandkids Zebco little rod\reel combos and take 'em to the lake when they are here and the weather is good. They catch lots of bluegill and the oldest caught a 9" bass!!
They love to go fishing with Pap!

Just watched Melissa Bachman shoot an antelope with her Mathews compound. 70 yards in a stiff breeze. The goat was head on. She shot and the goat turned and was getting out of dodge before the arrow got there. The arrow hit behind the shoulder as the goat was turning. Them far shots are just a crossbow thing, lol..............

More luck than good judgement. Yet, when its a crossbow, some want to ban the weapon or limit them.

More luck than good judgement. Yet, when its a crossbow, some want to ban the weapon or limit them. You and I both know that’s no going to happen. There’s no way to stop bow or rifle hunters from taking shots at game that should never been attempted, no matter what the outcome was.

My cousin's have always hunted long range. 5-600 yds. Maybe that should be illegal?
