Wayne LaPierre, CEO of the NRA has resigned, effective Jan. 31. He will be going on civil trial for allegations of diverting millions of dollars away from the NRA, to pay for his "personal" travel", and other "lavish perks", whatever those may come to be. As of now, the key word is "allegations", but I never liked the guy from jump street, and let my membership run out some time ago suspecting that the top brass of the NRA were funneling $$ for their personal use.
I've heard guys on different forums state, you can't "throw the baby out with the bathwater". Meaning you can't expire your NRA membership, because of poor leadership. But, I won't send my money to what basically amounts to Charlatan's at best, and criminals at worst.

I’ve been a NRA MEMBER for the last 45 consecutive years. Converted to LIFE MEMBER 15 years ago. Haven’t always agreed with all the NRA’s positions but overall the NRA is a formidable force in the preservation of our precious 2nd. As far as the recent Wayne allegations……if true good he’s gone. However things play out I’m thankful for the NRA’s work on our behalf. Without the NRA in our corner we would likely have similar gun laws such as in the UK, Australia etc. Bottomline no organization is perfect but one must always look to it’s underlying work as far as preservation of our fragile 2nd rights. IMO if the political forces succeeds in bringing the NRA down we sportsmen will be the ultimate losers.

Like many orgs, executive bloat is a reality. Glad he's gone, he was there FAR to long

Hopefully, this a merely a blurp on the radar screen and the NRA will be able to regroup in a positive manner going forward.

I left them when they came out with the "Jack-Booted thugs" comment way back when daddy Bush was president. They spent far more trying to get me back than I had time to give them in dues.

IMO......too many jump in & jump out on a whim without considering the NRA's longstanding/sustained 153 year history stemming back to 1871 in fighting for our 2nd rights. No surprise in today's "what did you do for me today" mentality.

No jumping in and out for me. They won't see another penny from me. I am not one who believes there are no commonsense restrictions on private gun ownership in this country. Some of my views are counter to the NRA's. The 100 percent agreement with group thought or you're a traitor to the group is too foreign to my way of thinking. We will help the groups that we feel do more good with the money, like St. Jude's, Ronald McDonald house, etc.

They’re the only group that’s fighting for the second amendment that I know of, which I support, and why I’m a life member of the NRA. St Jude’s and Ronald’s McDonald House also, and if you want to add another, Tunnel to Towers. At the same time I also think our current President is the worst baboon in the history of America, which I still feel is the greatest country in the world, and I’ve been in a few of them.

I guess GOA would be the place to put your money. I give to organizations that further the Gospel personally

Have no problem giving to the church or organization that truly follows the biblical principles either. At the same time I’m not giving up on America because it has a crooked, poor leader.

Haven't been following proceedings too closely but think jury selection was just made last week and trial is to run six to eight weeks. Will be able to form better opinion once the rule of law is carried out vs based on the many spins out there.

I have little faith in anyone today. The amount of corruption from the lowest level to the highest level is mind boggling.

Yep…..level of corruption in recent years has elevated to astronomical levels. We have adequate laws to curtail but way too many ways to delay plus circumvent swift prosecution.
