Met North once, he was between a rock and a hard place, not do to his fault, I was the go between. He was cool and collect through it all and I was able to remedy the problem. Not that I had complete control , but was able to convince those that had in North's favor. HIs attitude through the whole problem convinced me he was a good man and not one to use his status to get what he wanted. I remember North bringing up what he felt was corruption in the NRA, and felt it was probably true. He didn't come across the type of person that would use false exaggerations to get his way.

Wayne has admitted to the lavish vacations and the NRA still gave him a 17 million dollar golden parachute to step down. I can't support that My understanding is that the NRA Board never approved & it was deemed invalid in 2021. If he would of stepped down prior to 2021 he possibly could of received payment.

......."will receive $17 million". I can see major issues if the B of D never approved & it was a side deal by Wayne which I read EXPIRED in 2021. It will all come out in the final trial settlement. Even if ultmately paid most likely the NY AG will see it boomerangs right back in fines, penalties & reimbursemnt of the fraudulent diversion of funds. Can't believe there aren't criminal charges filed.

Google NRA Watch:
At trial, LaPierre confirmed that under the May 2018 contract, even in the event of his departure from the NRA, he would receive aggregate payments of $17 million for years after his departure, a staggering “golden parachute” arrangement. Despite its hefty price tag, the post-employment contract was not put in front of the NRA’s full board of directors for approval. LaPierre testified the contract was in effect until 2021, undermining the NRA’s claim that it had undergone a “course correction” starting in 2017.

Give your money to St. Judes if you want a worthy landing spot, and feel charitable. Neither the boogeyman, nor the liberals, are going to steal your guns any time soon... or even well into the future.

They seem to do more good work with a dollar than most charities. Ronald McDonald house and Shriners seem to be good ones too.

"Charity" donating should be cautionary, like most anything else. I know some years ago, there was a scandal of abuse with United Way here in SW PA. Pretty sure one or more higher-ups, may have done time for bilking that charity.
As important as 2A rights are, I just don't see the boogeyman grabbing my guns anytime soon. I'm also not as "staunch" as many others when it comes to some ancillary things that I believe are necessary that go with owning a gun. I'm willing to bend on some things I believe are prudent, and good for society as a whole. I pretty much lost a friendship when a former good friend of mine told me how wrong I was, for agreeing with the waiting period for a handgun. My premise was that, I didn't mind waiting for a handgun for 3-5-10 days, if that's what had to be done for a thorough check of my background. He was adamantly against a waiting period.
Then, you have things like HSUS actually being a PETA friendly org, as opposed to your local Humane Society shelters. I had no idea that they were very different behind the scenes until somebody alerted me to the differences ? But, until children's charities like St. Jude, Shriners, Children's Hospital, etc... become, or are outed as rife with abuse, I'll take my chances on kids that don't seem to get a fighting chance at a quality life... or life at all for that matter.

I hope the NRA learned a lesson. Seems like he was at the helm most of my adult life.

Ummmmm. I believe this is the answer to your statement. "Both LaPierre and the NRA denied the allegations." How the $%^& do you spend 11 Million on "private flights" ? You can get on a SpaceX flight rocket for a couple hundred grand.
