I will be out Saturday for the last hurrah. Hoping to get a crew together but I am not holding my breath. Getting people to go hunting is like pulling teeth. After that two more weeks of archery in the SRA but the long range weather does not look promising with much higher than average temperatures.

Good luck Ridge to you & your buddy! Glad you got someone to join you. I know what your saying...seems like no one hunts anymore as compared to years ago. Last weather report is still lookin pretty good.

We had some snow over the weekend so I took advantage of it to see what the deer were doing.I found two places with enough sign to get me interested. One of those spots was an area my son found during rifle season. It was a small ridge loaded with acorns with a big patch of laurel above it.He killed a doe there when he found it and hung a stand a few days later. He never did sit in that stand but I checked it out late sat morning and the deer had everything torn up around the stand. He sat there that afternoon with his bow and saw several deer and killed a shed buck.My predatory mode is kinda low but if the wind is right,I'll probably end the season in that stand.

Looks like the snow that they forecasted for this corner of the state Friday fizzled out. Might be gassing up the weed whacker and lawn mowers early this year.

I've lived for the late season ever since the first one in the late seventies. With that said, I don't get around in the woods like I used to and have had to change my hunting tactics. Taking a walk with my muzzleloader in the snow and cold is still one of the most looked after times of the year. I hope that the day I can't do that is long in coming. Long as you can make it to somewhere one of us will always stir the woods for ya!

Been wondering how you've been and how successful was your bear season.
