Luckily not. He thinks they used a wire hanger to press unlock button. Was a little damage to rubber weatherstripping...thats about it. He reported but never heard anything.

Well, the weatherman was wrong today. He said a isolated shower. I got to my spot at 6:30 and the skies opened up. Rained till 9:30. Did some sneaking and standing and ended up seeing 14. All too far for this flintlock guy to shoot. The rain started again at 1:30 so I wrapped it up. Hopefully the forecast holds and the temps get back to normal for the weekend.

Brisket maybe.

Sounds like it. At 15 yards most flintlock loads would likely drive the bullet back through & out the arsehole on deer sized game.

It wasn't just a brisket shot. I had blood for 500 yards. Bright red blood

Find any hair? If I'd be up I would help you look tomorrow. This coming weekend was my plan to be in sully but now will depend on how the Mrs makes out at doc's office tomorrow re unexpected health issue that cropped up.

No there was no hair that I saw. I do remember she ran away with her left front leg tucked up against her body. And I'm not in Sullivan. This was Lebanon County

It wasn't just a brisket shot. I had blood for 500 yards. Bright red blood Briskets bleed. A lot. Its possible you tucked it inside the front leg but outside of the rib cage as well. Either way, it wasn't a hit in the vitals if it went 500 yards over the course of 3 hours. It may live or die from secondary causes.

Foggy, damp and drizzly off and on all day. Sixty-one degrees this afternoon. I have better things to do with my time.

Flintlock weather has sucked in this corner of the state for some time. Milder winters. Less snow. Looks like 40 for Saturday which is about 10-20 too warm.

Got where I wanted to be a first light high on a ridge by a bunch of grave vine tangles where I usually see deer this time of the year. Had three does come in and bed down over 100 yards away. After a few hours I decided to make a play on them and it took me an hour and a half to stalk within 60 yards where I ran out of cover. Finally one stood up and I managed to miss her clean. They hopped about 10 yards and stood there wandering what happened. I got a speed load in but trying to push the bullet home with the ram rod they caught me and it was game over. Saw 5 others but no shot opportunities.
Oh well.

Saturday finally managed to get out in moms woods to take flinter for a little walk. Saw one little button buck feeding on browse behind her hog pen but passed. Deer sign was everywhere. Was just great getting out!

Well...with today only 7 days left in Regular Late Season. Plan on a day or 2 in mom's woods then hoping to wrap-up season in Sullivan County pending weather which looks decent as of now.. Weather looks pretty good all week with no major storms forecast(as of yet). Sure wish Sunday(1/15) would of been tacked on...with Monday(1/16) last day. Sure not many smokers here out of over 1,100 members outside of Ridge, Moosemike & Acorn. Mebbie they're just quiet smokers! Smoke signals allowed here too!! Any plans for final week's wrap-up??

I have Saturday and Monday off yet and intend to be out both days. Not sure where yet? I know I won't be out in the mornings. Unless I'm at Camp I cannot get myself to go out for the morning hunt anymore 🤷♂️
