Got no more room in my gun safe. Those spaces that a Creed might fit into are taken up by a .250 Savage and the ol' .257 Bob. I do like Browning rifles, though.

I don't hate 6.5's. Last year I was wheeling and dealing with a guy for his .264 Win Mag but we just couldn't get to a place where we could get the deal done. And recently Shydas had a great price on a Weatherby First Lite 6.5/300 Magnum and I was going to buy it until I saw the ammo prices. I have less than zero interest in the Creedmoor though and I've never in my life wanted a Swede. And yeah, I read the article.

To each their own. I don't get too excited when new calibers come out. Over the last 10yrs, almost every time I read a gun magazine, there was a new bullet and caliber. The 6.5 is the current fad, but rest assured, the gun and bullet manufacturer's are currently workin on some thing they will claim is better than the 6.5. It's all designed to sell more guns and bullets. That's called progress and free trade

My former father in law had a Swede back in the late 80s. It was in a M70 Featherweight. That was a phenomenal gun. Very accurate. Sometime in the late 90s he sold it, just before he died. I know his son would have liked that gun, as would I.

I bought a M7 Stainless in 260 about 1997. I love that rifle, but had a hard time getting it dialed in with handloads. It shoots decent, inch and a quarter. Great rifle, good cartridge

My 6.5 Swede target.....from a bench......300 yards. Not to shabby. BTW the white lines are 1" apart.

My gun smith said he loves the 6.5 creedmoor, mostly because his bank account loves it. Said he has rebarreled more rifles for it this past year than any other caliber ever.😀

I want Loggy's Swede! Other than that there's not much one of the "wonder" 6.5's can do that my 270 Winchester can't do.

I know the .264 mag. was known for shootin out the barrel. Yes and they burn out the throats first. When I was trying to strike a deal with a guy who had a pre 64 model 70 Westerner in .264 WM, i asked him how the throat looked and he wouldn't answer me. That let me know i wasn't going to give him his price.

My huntin buddy had a local gunsmith build him a .264 Win Mag on a 98 Mauser action back in the 70's. Killed a few whitetail and antelope with it. After all the shootin Workin up a load, plus a few critters he shot, he doesn't use it much anymore. Doesn't want to shoot it out.

I know of a guy on another forum who bought a .264 WM and burned the throat out in one day. He took it out varmint shooting with hot handloads and he ran the barrel too hot. Then he comes on the forum puzzled why he can't get good accuracy out of it like he had before even though he copper cleaned it. They had him check and sure enough he scorched the throat. The 26 Nosler and 6.5/300 Weatherby are even harder on barrels than the 264.

Got a couple of '06's Dutch; and I normally load them down for our Michaux deer... Just don't need that much for 100 lb whitetails. Muab

Man I hope you got more than 100 lb whitetail. My buck this past season was 150 lbs. I was always mainly a farm country hunter until the farms were sold of and I've killed some 200 pound bucks there.

We've both used those two cartridges a lot over the years.

I started to down size my gun collection when my son started to hunt.I started selling guns that I rarely used and bought guns for him that would last him a lifetime.I have a .223,.308,300 wsm, flintlock and 20 ga Franchi affinity along with two rimfires.I still have a custom .338 federal that I'm trying to sell.I don't foresee the need for any more guns for the rest of my life. For a couple of decades,I went through several every year.

Since I bought my 6.5 Swede in 2009 my ole Rem 700 30-06 has been second string. The 06 stands ready if ever needed but thinkin it may stay on the bench based upon my Swedes batting average the last 10 years!
