Wonder what that would do to a 90 pound doe? Kill it by putting two holes in her of about 375 caliber. Smaller cartridges with bullets designed to expand on light game would perform much better. Beats the crap outta the Creedmoor! Lol Barnes bullets on the way. They better give me two holes!

On deer I'm quite pleased with the 243. I was considering a 6.5 Creed until I saw the wound channel through my Doe this year. Especially the exit wound which was massive. All that and it was a raking shot to boot. My boy killed a 132" buck a few years ago with a Texas heart shot with his 243. Dropped in its tracks. I just don't need more performance than that.

I killed a doe in 2006 with a 243. Boom, flop. Just like with my 06.
That Ruger American compact in 243 makes me think...

I would honestly just use my 243 for all my hunting. Its my son who keeps me in the big cartridges. That's mainly what he's into so he keeps me into them.

I don't listen to many gun writers or many pro's.I've seen way too much stupid stuff come out of their mouths over the years.I listen to what the dead animals teach me.

No purple, but confess to red... thanks to the wife's "multi-pack" at Christmas. On the other hand, a 300 Savage/Creedmoor will kill any moose that ever walked... Muab

Which was developed from what? 250 Savage? Which morphed into what? 300 savage? Moose the Creedmoors are nothing more than a 250 Savage case necked up and a "bit" improved... Muab

I consulted Cartridges Of The World on that and it says the 30 TC was formed from the 308 Winchester. And I know the 308 Winchester was developed off the 300 Savage, so you do have a point.

Oh... and Mike; watch out for the 6mm "Creedmoor... another nice little cartridge. Muab Oh they're already trying to tell me over on the 24hourcampfire that the 6mm Creedmoor is superior in every way to my 243. I don't care. For me going forward the 243 is what I want in my hands.
