Call name, Annie. Co-starring Diezel. Annie is 10 months old and Diezel is 10 years old. I'm training Annie by following Evan Graham's Smart Works and Smart Fetch program. Would like to train Annie without Diezel being present but he still wants to come along and I just can't leave him home. This makes for a big distraction during training but Annie seems to be taking it all in stride. Here we are at the pond training with the "Place Board." This is really the fun stuff! place & fetch 2place & fetch

The training continues. We're increasing the distance to the Place Board, it'll take a few more repetitions for when the place board is outta sight. Also this was the 1st time we changed the Fetch command to calling her name. You can tell how exciting this training is by watching Annie's wagging tail. Place & Fetch

I'm just spreading the news around the internet, Miss Annie is now Steady to the Shot. But to get there we had to make sure she was proofed and we did that with the "Duck On A Stick." We've had live bird intro before but this is her 1st ever attempt at something like this. All her obedience training is evident, almost like a shinning star! Duck On A StickNext up is the live bird and the shot. Again we've had shooting exposure but never shooting combined with a live duck. Steady To The Shot
Good Dawg!

It's nice to see someone on a hunting site actually hunts! We have been getting a few geese but their numbers are way down.As nice as the weather has been you would think the golfers would keep them chased off of the courses.

It's starting to click with Miss Annie. We did sit, hold, give this morning with the geese. She loves it!

Miss Annie delivered all 6 birds to hand this morning. If this seems like bragging, well that's exactly what it is! 2 bonus leg bands today.

Miss Annie made her 2nd trip to Blue Marsh Lake for boat introduction. We practiced retrieving the dummy from the boat and getting back in via the doggie ladder. We're ready for the Salt Water.

Miss Annie does Coastal New Jersey. All the Marina Mallards off the back deck are a big attraction. Getting the boat ready. There's still some tourists around and as you can imagine we stick out from the rest of the crowd. Couple of neighbors just thought we looked great and took some pics. High tide on the Meadow was exciting. So far this has all been Practice, Miss Annie is now ready for the big test on November 10th, opening day of duck season in the Coastal Zone of NJ.
