Am I the only one not thrilled about this? Just another predator that will be abundant one day and you won't be able to touch it. Stroup...give urself some time as you grow and gain more appreciation of the precious things that Mother Nature so graciously shares with us humans!

Isn't this nest located in Codorus State Park? Probably fishing in the lake.

Mom's currently feeding her young just now. Neat how she partially chews some of the larger chunks before feeding them. Who needs a food grinder!!

Thinking crappie too, and not the little guys either. I guess if I were an eagle I'm going for the big boys.

BTW, according to the news, over 1 million people checked in on those birds the other day when the second one hatched. People from 180 nations watched these birds at one time or another. Wow! That's a lot of people. The PGC should put up a "GoFundMe" account and ask for donations for wildlife conservation efforts. I bet they could collect a lot of food plot money.

Thats a great Idea Glenn, but you know some how that money would get pizzed away too, they would have to do a couple dozen studies and hire a consulting firm, then check with DEP for the proper permits. fighting0092

It sure is great to be able to see bald eagles in Pennsylvania. I snapped this photo on Lake Raystown a few summers ago. The location is right across from the S2 sign in Shy Beaver inlet.

In the seventies when there were only a couple eagles in the state, they lived here in the Geneva swamp, we watched them regularly now they nest every where around here, and seldom a day goes by that I don't see one or more, they sit in the trees in my yard and regularly fish in my ponds, during the summer I feed them the woodchucks we shoot around the barn, they are beautiful birds.

I don't know how they keep from getting sea sick, swaying around that high in the air.

Just checked the nest at the National Conservation Training Center in Sheperdstown, WV and I was mistaken in an earlier post. There are three eaglets in that nest. As with the nest in Hanover, one of the chicks seems to be taking the lion's share of the food and seems to bully the other chicks around. Survival of the fittest I assume.
I saw the same thing going on in the nest in Pittsburgh last year but all three of those chicks fledged.

The eaglets are actually alone in the next now. Didn't think that would happen.
