I've owned two T/C omegas. Both shot good but I got rid of them because I really had no use for them.Recently I decided that an inline would be a good way to get my daughter out inthe fall when the weather is nice and my son likes all guns so I figured it was a win win.I despise all merchandise with "Dream season" or "Bone collector" crap on them. However,I found a great deal on a dream season Omega and a bone collector Bushnell elite muzzleloader scope lol.I mounted the scope this past weekend and let Junior shoot it a bunch with 70gr of blackhorn and a 245 gr xtp.The gun was as deadly accurate as past Omegas but it was quite a bit lighter. The kid shot it pretty good and the recoil didn't seem to phase him.I'll get my daughter to shoot it next and hopefully she'll put it to use this coming october.I absolutely hate hoaky marketing but I have to admit,I like this gun. Some black majic marker should take care care of the stupid flourescent green bone collector logos on the scope.

I have several bushnell elites. They're hard to beat on a typical hunting rifle with the rain guard. It's one gimmick that actually works.

Loggy,I have a soft spot with my kids when it comes to weapons, horses and off road vehicles,When they want a weapon,it brings a tear to my eye and I don't skimp.I actually got a smoking deal.I found the Omega brand new at Elk county ammo and arms for $430 and Natchez had the scope for $160.I couldn't pass it up.

Amen Doug...im a big softie too as far as my Kids when they were with us. They always got the very best without even a blink!! Nether of my Daughters were hunters but they were active in music, dance & the arts so the very best was given as far as instruments & professional instruction. It's currently paying back as my youngest Daughter is a HS Art Teacher for 3 years now & recently was selcted the Director for her High School musical including directing choreography plus is student council advisor. As much as you can expose your kids too while they are growing-up the better it equips them for dealing with the future! They both loved to fish & crab during their childhood & still do som occasionally when we are on vacation together.

That's what it's all about.I have to admit though,I'm glad my son is more into the outdoors than being involved with theater or something like.It would have been fine if my daughter was into those things. She's a redneck at heart but never really showed an interest in hunting until this past year.I always tell my wife that she can deal with the culture and I'll deal with the agriculturte.

Agree Doug ifin I had a Son....likely wouldn't of been too thrilled with him fittin-up with dem dance tights!!lol I tell ya though... having your kidos involved in the arts(music, art, dance etc etc),,,it does greatly enhance their opportunuties once they enter the real World which comes upon them sooner than later!! My youngest go into the HS Band & imo it was a very positive move in her future path. My Mrs is an artist so mebbie im a lil bias!!lol

My exposure to "culture" is limited to those lumps in cottage cheese, and I really hate cottage cheese, as for musicals, I'm good with "The Blues Brothers" & "Blazing Saddles", I guess I'm just a diamond in the rough.

I consider myself to be a mildly educated redneck.I grew up playing sports and some times acting like an idiot but my biggest passions were always living outside. If I couldn't walk out my back door and do whatever I wanted,I'd wither up and die.I live a very busy, stressful life and I don't get much time to do the things I like to do.Fortunately, when I have an hour or two to steal,I don't have to go far.My son is exactly like me.He needs to be outside because he has a connection to the outdoors.I think with some people,it's just genetic. You can't change who you are.Having a kid to brainwash, mold and share that with is priceless because so few people understand it.I have nothing against the finer things in life but it's just not me.I also have a tremendous amount of respect for people who are talented in an artistic way.My mind works in such a simple way,I can't even comprehend how people like that can do the things they do.Many times, those people can't understand me either. It's all good though. That's what makes the world interesting.

My daughter is an adrenaline junkie and her life revolves around running horses and chasing cows. However, she did the dance thing and played the piano when she was small.I have to say, while it was cute,it was also excruciating sitting through those things. There were many days that I would have been a gonner if a dull butter knife would have been within my reach. In the beginning,My wife struggled with her not having a big interest in those things and she kinda resented the horses because of it.Eventually she warmed up to the barrel races and rodeos and has had a lot of fun with that for the past 8 years or so.If she stays on track and wants to go to school out west, she'll most likley get a full scholarship to rodeo in college.Thatwould knock about 4 years off her Dad's need to work.

Loggy
The Remington 700ML shoots 1" groups at 100 yards. I've put a lot of meat in the freezer with that gun. I have a Nikon Buckmaster on it. One of my favorites!

I hunt with a SS 50 cal. Traditions Pursuit ... got a SS Rem 700 50 cal ML ... own a Gonic GA-93 SS 50 cal ... and have a CVA Buckhorn in 50 cal. Remington and Gonic use #11 caps, the Traditions and the Buckhorn fire a shotgun primer. The 209 primer really takes the guesswork out of the ignition process! But I've still killed my biggest buck with a percussion CVA Missouri in 50 cal. Leave the smokeless to brass containers called bullets.

Quite a line-up there gemihur! I agree re your smokeless comment. I owned a Henry Ball Custom 10 ML-II plus a Savage 10 ML smokeless ML. They were super hard long range tack drivers but it was tough tuning in a load that didn't blow the sabot plus the breech plug ventliners eroded which was an inherent problem of that smokeless offering. BH209 does all I need but it was fun toying around with the 10ML's. I use the German DYNAMIT NOBEL #11 PERCUSSION CAPS 1075(below) in my White Super 91 .504. They are as reliable as any 209 ive ever shot.
