I only have one, a NEF Sidekick that I have never used in Pa. Bought it for Delaware bean field hunting where the shooting is often 100-200+ yards, just a little far for my flintlocks w/open sights.
Not an expensive rifle but always got the job done for me. I shoot loose Triple 7 out of it but could convert to Blackhorn with an after market breech plug.

TMM is looking for an inline, too. I'm not one to spend $600+ on a gun I may use twice a year. Those guns have been recommended to me by a few people. I still think I will go with the $269.00 TC.

Lots of nice smokepoles. My favorite for deer is a cva Optima in .50 with a Bushnell Banner 3x9. Shoots powerbelts with loose Pyrodex very well. In the tree with me right now!

That one fine shooter Glenn!
One of my first inlines was a CVA Optima Pro when they first came out. Had a CVA Firebolt prior to that(plunger bolt style) & it too was a good shooter. I shot 348 grain Powerbelts Aerotips out of the Optima which stabilized nicely in its 1-28 twist bbl. A tack driver and was outstanding on deer.

My Encore 50 Caliber using the Blackhorn 209 and the 325gr Hornady with a sabot is incredibly accurate. It's a modern day rifle without the brass. I'm planning on getting out tomorrow (Monday) and I really hope to plant that big 'ol 325gr. thru the boiler room of a seasoned doe. This is the same bullet that I load and shoot out of my Marling 45-70 so I expect no blood trails. But....I have to see one, then line it up in the scope crosshairs, then squeeze one off.

Dave Man...that sounds like a hard hitter fer sure!! I love experimenting with different bullets, sabots & powder in my inlines. Add's a lil more fun vs buyin a box of ammo off the shelf. An inline is not much different than a well tuned flinter if you do your homework plus rangework.. I like having a scoped inline in the Early Season since areas i huntin the big mountains of Sullivan County can afford a shot past the 100 yard line. Best of luck Dave!!

Nice guns, but where's the Flint go? The inline was\is a concept and were actually built in the late 1800's. These are not "new" ideas of how to build a rifle. This is simply taking an old idea and applying modern technology to it. We still shoot the 45 Long Colt (well...some do but I don't) and we still shoot the 45-70. (I do shoot the 45-70....but no with BP!!) Original 45LC's and 45-70's were loaded with black powder. Should we go back to using only BP in these cartridges? Well, if we do I'll shoot mine a whole lot less because of the required immediate cleanup. So....I'm thinking no....we can shoot both modern powders and black powders in 45LC and 45-70. BTW & FWIW, I have shot at the range, "plinking" loads from my Encore in-line. I believe it was 50gr. of Goex FF and a 44 caliber Hornady soft (very soft) lead bullet with a plastic sabot. Accurate as all get out and fun as heck to shoot!!! Had to swab the barrel after every 3rd or 4th shoot, but again.....low velocity lead bullets that just splattered when hitting a steel plate at 50 or 75 yards. Messy....messy clean up though!!!! My point is, you don't have to own one to hunt with. You can (just like a replica of the old cap-locks) own and shoot one just for kicks. They are (or can be) very inexpensive to shoot. OTOH, they can also be a devastating firearm for a one shot clean kill on a whitetail. Choices. That's a nice part of living in this country. Dave
