Be doing my normal Sullivan County hunt leaving Friday morning. Plan to hunt Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Weather in NE PA looks a lil warmer vs what we had opening Bear weekend. Before leaving having Thanksgiving dinner being hosted by my Chef Daughter....with all 5 grandkids(Ages 1 month to age 6)being there! Will make the following days of quiet Sully County Camp time xtra special!! What's your plans??

Will be at camp in 2A with about 5 others Friday afternoon through Tuesday. My main plan is to drink some bourbon and smoke some fine cigars. My hunting plans depend on the weather. If its nice I plan to sit with the 22/250 in hopes of seeing a coyote. May do a few pushes for the others Sunday, Mon, Tues. If the weather isn't so nice I plan to drink more bourbon and smoke more fine cigars.

I keep a bottle of Jack TN Honey in camp where we partake in our "after hunt" celebration of kills plus no kills!! Works great for both!!

I'll be out in Burgettstown, Washington County. I've got 1 doe tag, don't know if I'll use it or not. Thinking I might save it for Flintlock, but ya never know!

I'll be at camp in Armstrong Co 2D, heading up Friday morning. My son and I have a doe tag each so hope to get him one, I doubt I'll shoot one. That would be his first rifle kill if he does. Weather looks iffy and I don't plan to get too wet lol.
Good luck to everyone!

Soo, you kept an an antlerless tag for that WMU too. I got an antlerless tag for 2A, just so I can participate in muzzy hunts, though, I'm done killing Doe.

I don't get too amped up about trying to take a doe till later in rifle season which depends on how the population looks after a week of us hunting. I have a few friends that like venison but don't hunt and will pay for the processing. I always save one for flintlock and I try to save the 2B tag for late archery as I can hunt through January there and it keeps me in the woods. Though the last few years I could have filled that 2B tag in late archery but just couldn't bring myself to do it.

I have one 2C and one 2D doe tags. I save those for flintlock season. I hope we do have some snow for the post season rock-lock time.
Taking the Marlin 1895, 45-70 out. Just likely go Saturday morning as my Michigan crew of grandkids will still be here. They are leaving Sunday. I'll collapse after they leave!

I'll walk up back and keep my eye on a thick patch of grapevines. If I plan to sit for more than a couple hours I'll carry my .270 700 BDL. If I plan on moving around after sitting for a short time I'll carry my .30-.30. At least one of my brothers is hunting my place and my wife is excited to go.
My wife used her doe tags and I'll wait to use the one I have left for later in the season. Unlike archery season, I will probably shoot any legal buck I get a chance at. 3pt half rack will fill the bill. I saw a really small 3 x spike a couple times in archery season. Maybe he'll end up in my freezer.
Good luck to all. Don't overdo it.

I will be in deerless Potter County big woods.
My daughter and her guy will be a couple hundred yards from me. She hunts, he doesn't. Hoping she gets her first deer, either sex is fine.
I don't really have much hope for me, but you can't kill them on the couch!
Leaving Thanksgiving day sometime. Will stay a week.
My nephew from Kalispell Montana will be hunting with us. Been a long time since he was in camp.
My great nieces are coming the second weekend.
No matter what, it will be a great week
Best of luck to all you misfits!!

No plans for myself. Family in NY did well archery hunting. They share the harvest. I don't need much.

Seven years in a row now I've had opportunities at huge bucks. Saw one this year at 15 yds while sitting on the ground, and just no great shot. Not sure how many guys would have passed on the shot I had

As I look fwd to "Opening Day" I must say that the anticipation hasn't left me after over 50 years of hunting!! In my younger years I would toss & turn night before with trouble getting to sleep. Now that can't sleep issue left me but I'll always remember my Dad's words... "We hunters are always searching for that trophy of a lifetime" which he wrote those words in our Camp's Log Book!! Mebbie I'm crazy but whacking a nice elusive doe still gives me a thrill!! If these desires ever leave me.....you have permission to plant me but don't hold your breath!! Best of luck to all!!
