I do believe the time has come, IMO long past, to completely rewrite this FUBAR publication. The digest needs simplified along with the rules and regulations that leave no doubt to what's allowed and not allowed.
It is really that hard too explain a season, take the new muzzle loader bear. Statewide Oct 19 - 26. Arms and Ammunitions allowed; ONLY Muzzleloader 44 cal or larger in long guns, 50 cal or larger in pistol, single projector all lead bullet or ball designed to expand on impact. Statewide Oct 24 - 26; During this time Juniors, seniors, active duty military & certain Disabled permit holders may use a center fire firearm.
Take the fluorescent orange requirements on page 10 of digest. Do you really need to list 3 seperate categories when the requirements for all three are the same. There is so much repeating of regulations when they could be consolidated under on heading pertaining to all categories that they apply to. What say you

I'm sure it could be better.......OTOH.....it's a Gov't agency and perhaps the guy in charge is happy with the status quo. {(Surprise)

I liked the little books that fit into my lic holder or jacket pocket. I often read through it while I was sitting against a tree waiting to hear a squirrel rustling in the leaves

I often read through it while I was sitting against a tree waiting to hear a squirrel rustling in the leaves Because they were a very non standard size, they were very expensive to produce. If you are in a stand, you should know the regs. Besides, download to your smartphone, and read away

I don't have a smart phone. I still use a flip phone and usually don't know where it is. My wife and sons thought it was pretty funny when I got another flip phone a couple months ago to replace my old one. I kinda like things the way the are without be connected all the time.
I think I'm up to date on the laws that apply to me. I was back when I took the smaller book with me too.

I'm happy for you, Dutch, but unlike you, I do not own a phone that is smarter than I am.

Personal choice on the flip, smart, or none at all. My son and family have none, mostly because there's no service where they live. I went the smart route about 8 maybe 10 years ago, and like it. I have a typo maps app that doesn't require service, just GPS, that I use some while hunting. When I have service I communicate with other hunters in the group by text, which is nice, no noise with phone on vibrate. Use goggle or apple map to find my way on the highway occasionally too. Just used the level the other day while doing some wiring. The camera is nice now and then when I or some else ends up harvesting something. I can even download my trail cam photos into it , with the easy drive right in the field if I want to. It has become more of a tool than a phone, think I'll keep it.

Correct, it's a tool. Kinda like the multitool many of us carry

My sons learned to identify plants and trees from me and our Peterson Field guides. Now, the oldest has an app that identifies almost every one by simply taking a picture with his phone. Takes a little of the fun out of it confused-smiley-013

My wife and sons thought it was pretty funny when I got another flip phone a couple months ago to replace my old one. I didn't know they were still making flip phones. A good friend of mine still uses one. When I txt him, he has to txt back on the little tiny keypad. He's a good guy....multi $$$$$......but can't seem to get to liking the new phones. So.....where do you get one at? Somewhere like "relly.old.guys.stuff.com?"

I have a slider. It costs me just over $100 per year. The only reason I have it is so that I can get in touch with Ms. Doris from camp. Don't need any of the other stuff. I am a dinosaur, and damn proud of being one.

I'm in the "Beam me up Scooty" (flip phone)crowd too. And while I know the merits of a smart phone I'm more than content to simply have a phone and not a computer in my pocket. Muab

I still use a flip phone as my business line. No frills. Don't need it to be a smartphone. I'll be switching companies soon, flips are still readily available

Keep in mind, if any of you have 3G flip phones, with Verizon, I believe that service ends Dec. 31 this year.
You will have to upgrade to a 4G flip

My phone is an alcatel?, don't know who the service is through. She says it's about $100/yr. My sons say it one step up from a couple of tin cans and a string

I'm tired of paying $170 a month for a cell phone. Just seems stupid of me. Going to straight talk after this one is up.
