It was a little windy and cool up here as well Larry and I thought of you two on the water each day. Man, wish I could have made the trip but I'm glad you fellows had some luck. Guess you didn't go and paint "LOGGY" on the sides of your boat like the infamous REDFOX? I'm telling ya, that's probably what you need to do. Perhaps we can get together a little later this Spring if things go better at work. But anyway, looks like you've broke the ice so to speak on another fine year of floundering. Catch ya later!

Thanks Dan. Missed having you on the trip.
I like that idea of painting LOGGY on the ole lund!! We didn't see the REDFOX out there...think he knew better! ;D I did hear he was already drifing this season though.
Hope we can hook-up later in the season plus if you & your Mrs get down ...let me know and mebbie we can get a day or so in like we did last year.

Loggy- glad you had some success with the flatties! I was thinking about you also and even checked the Chincoteague weather and saw the high winds you were dealing with. I knew if Loggy's not fishin', ain't nobody fishin' Hope I can get the kinks out of my bum knee so I can join you for a drift again sometime. I waded all day yesterday in high, swift boulder strewn water- no problem. As soon as I sit for any amount of time with knees bent, it kills me.

Larry forgot to mention that the water on Thursday, Friday and at least Saturday morning looked like glass w/ no wind! Weather was sunny in low 80's to high 70's. We agreed that it would most likely be awhile till we were able to enjoy fishing for flatties in that kind of weather again.

Amen Stroupy...was a blast for sure!
Dan... I must say that our Friday fishing in behind the magnificent Assateague Barrier Islands was the calmest ive ever seen in 30 plus years of fishing there.

Water clarity for optimum floundering still not the best but greatly improving. Been an abnomal Spring/Early Summer with all the storms/high wind conditons. Next couple weeks will be red hot imo! Couple scumptious flatties from last week to supplement crab feast. Catchin just enuff to keep our BIG BELLIES satisfied! LOL

Back from two weeks in Chincoteague this past Sunday. We had beautiful weather and some good fishin. We got out fishing 8 times and put 38 keeper flounder in the cooler. Although Va size limit is 16 inches we set our limit at 17 and kept nothing smaller. The largest was 22 incher with most fish in the 18 to 19 inch range. Fished the wrecks offshore most days but did well the two times we stayed inshore and drifted the Chincoteague Channel. Got checked twice by the F&W guys while we were cleaning our catch at the marina. Nice guys just doing their job.

Great report Duane!! Some very nice flounder there fer sure. Like that new hat!! Musta inherited the good luck from the old hat!! I was down in Chincoteague for last 8 day's of July & the Mrs graciously allowed me to get out twice on the water. Both trips were fairly productive. A lil payback for all my playing around in the Spring. Irregardless...had a great/relaxing time with fair skies almost every day enjoying the beach, Annual Pony Swim festivities, National Wildlife refuge etc. Caught a beautiful 17.5" & a 22" flounder in a few hours fishing Chincoteague Channel plus 44 crabs one incoming tide afternoon back in Assateague Channel. Caught quite a few croakers but were on the small side so saved them for crab bait. Needless to say...we ate well.

Nice catch Loggy. We were there during the pony swimm but avoided the crowds and went fishing. Looked like one heck of a T-Boomer about the time the ponies were swimming. We were 8 miles off on Blackfish sittin in the sunshine thinking man that looks bad over Chincoteague.

We we not near Memorial Park for sure when that nasty storm went through. Sawem parade down the street after plus caught part of the auction. Saw the actual swim 2 years ago when my Kidos were down that week. You see it once.....& that enuff as far as im concerned.
