I also have been in there many, many times and for a little bit of clarity, I married a waitress who worked there and divorced her in 1986. That was back when Richard and Katrina owned it. I knew Richard when his dad owned it and he was a little kid. I mentioned liking the High Knob Inn and I'll put the food at Colley Pub up against anyone's anywhere. How many times, Ye Old Sullivan County Relic that you are, have you eaten at Colley? "Been a Hillsgrove Twp property owner/taxpayer for over 40 years now and with Dad...make that 60 years. So I just happen to have a tad bit of insight to the local eating establishments."
Considering your offering there, I'll ask again and expand it Loggy; "Have you ever gone to, in Sullivan County on rte 87, the Colley pub? Or have you ever done a Saturday night dinner and show at the Forksville General Store? If not, you are sincerely missing out on two of the finest dining experiences in SULLIVAN COUNTY. Now, having said that, Colley is no show place and they don't sell booze. It is BYOB and as far as I can tell it is kept clean but could use a make over. How about D&D Brewery? We tried it twice since it changed hands and were disappointed both times. Clean and good service but a NY strip steak was about 1/4" thick and another time our soup and veggies were cold. How about, (for high end dining), the Harrington House? We've done that a half dozen or so times. (Doc Plastow is our dentist),...Great food, good service, high prices for the portions you get. Been there? And did you know that the old "J Birds" was sold and the new owners plan to re-open as a bar-dining est.? Can't speak to what's coming except we welcome other opportunities to dine out. We generally eat out at least once a week and have no problem driving a ways for good food. Use to go to the wrens nest in Mansfield and then The Penn Hotel in Wellsboro when the chef went there and closed the nest. Did about every other place in Mansfield from Grandmas to the Cast and Crew also.

May I recommend the Wellsboro Steak House the next time you're in town... and I wouldn't be too quick to overlook the Lamb Steak, perhaps fried oysters for an appetizer?

I had some beers in Jbirds about 2 months ago......and the Mildred legion, as well as the Dushore v....and the Harrington house.
Had a DD and did a sully tour. Harrington house is way out of place.....and over priced.......like a Harrisburg place in sully.....

While at my Hillsgrove place I rarely drive 20 miles to Dushore just to eat. Mike has a great breakfast(SOS plus I really like his Taylor Pork Roll plus tasty hash browned wedges). He also put's out a great cheese steak sammich if there for lunch. Between the Forksville Gen Store, High Knob Inn & Forksville Inn...I'm totally content. We used to visit the Hillsgrove Hotel for grub but it's mainly a watering hole now. Had the Mrs down to Dushore a few times to visit some of the lil gift shops plus hitting Bill's Ace etc and ate Colleys Pub. It was clean & food was ok. Wouldn't make a special drive there unless being for other needs.

Was she a perty, sandy blonde gal ? Meaner-n-a-rattler though ? I may have married her in 1987.

Previous owners gutted the place of wiring and plumbing, bar fixtures, vintage lights etc. Yup Harrington house is mainly for the Eagles Mere crowd. Last time we went there I told Kate when we left that I wished there was a McDonalds to stop at to finish dinner cause I was still hungry.

Pot (no pun intended)... Kettle...... Black, perhaps Loggy ? The following from the "pot" thread. ..... or did your use of the smiley emoji, preclude the fact that you made an unwarranted AND UNPROVOKED post towards others viewpoints on the thread subject ?......... whoever they may be. confused-smiley-013 High horses are tough to ride, my brother from a York County mother.

Yinz need to check out the Halton Hilton outside of Ridgway. The owner recently died so I don't know what it's like now but it was the craphole of all crapholes. It supposedly had good food but I never had the guts to try it.I moved out here in 1991 and my one roommate from college moved to Ridgway. We went out drinking one night and made a beer run to the place. There was a hole in the floor in the mens room to take a whiz in,no toilet.I didn't even want to drink the beer.

Local bar called the"Brick", for years the water lines to the mens room would freeze in the winter, so they just threw some ice in the urinals every day..........
New owners bought the place a couple years ago and remodeled , got new bathrooms......running water and everything ........
I frequent the place, it aint got no bidet or anything fancy like Doug is used to, but I like redneck bars.................

We call the one right on rt6 "the tilten Hilton"...........place looks like its gonna tip over into rt6. A true dive bar, and yes, I have drank there.
I don't know the real name of that bar, and it's the only one in that town I ever drank at. Not sure if there is another bar in that town ??

Hoping to eat there, once Moosemike and his wife buy it! My BIL actually worked out a deal to buy High Knob a few years ago. Deal fell through and it was for a good but more money than what he's asking now.
