Flintlock is my favorite season. It's the first time in awhile I'm carrying a buck tagi into late seasom. I've yet to connect o a deer this year by choice. I've been laying off the does. Hope to get my first buck with flinter!

We will be back at on the 26th. Should have 8 or 10 guys most of the week between the holidays. After that, it will be 6 or 8 of us for the next two weeks. We will hunt most of those days. I will miss the last few days, cuz I have to go south..........

All weather dependent here.I don't need to deal with any more dead deer so if the weather is decent,I want to get the pup on as many birds as possible. She appears to be a fair weather hunter so we'll see.

No time spent stumbling around the grounds of our gun club this year, as has been the tradition for over a decade.
Only way I'm gonna walk the flinter around now, is to go back up to camp. Still have a 3A doe tag.

I am going to take the smokepole out, wasn't going to but the one patch that you cant see more then a few ft has my interest, I think you can shoot a trophy class whitetail if you you find the right spot in there. Plus I want to try and get that 6 pointer, the deer haven't touched the acorns on top of the mountain yet so they should be there feeding on them soon.

Just FedEx'd some razor wire up to the cousin's place, for around that porch. Hope to find it infested with squirrel hair and porky quills, the next time I get up. Don't see a trip up there for flintlock. Too many irons in the fire around here, more being added daily. Spent most of the afternoon twiddlin' my thumbs, waiting for the Rooter dudes to show up and open a blocked sewer line. Glad it waited until I was home from deer camp.

One thing is for sure, I will be making lots of smoke. I got several packs of Backwoods Sweet and Milds sitting especially for flintlock season.

After some practice, you can usually get the job done for less than dollar ............

Planning on getting the Firestorm all tuned up and ready to go during the Steeler game Sunday. Looks like above average temperatures all next week. Hoping we return back to normal with some snow for flinter season.

Yep Ridge......now's the time for that final tuning!! Previously owned 2 TC flinters...a PA Hunter and a Firestorm. Both well made flinters. Really liked the removable breech plug on the FS. Wish it would of been offered in a slower twist bbl vs the 1-48 though.

I put peep sites on my firestorm the first year they became legal. I really like the gun.

Lyman Receiver Sight 57SML. This is the peep site I installed on my TC Hawken the year Pa made 'em legal. The great part (other than the fact that I love shooting with a peep site) is the site blocks the initial flash of the pan. Then it's much easier to stay focused on the target and not flinch.
FWIW
