Thinking of trying these out for some pistol loads. Buying these instead of cast bullets to save some $, but not have to worry about leading up the barrel.
Just wondered if anyone has experience with them, and is there much of a difference between the brands (Berry,Ranier,Xtreme)?

When I shot a lot of steel I used Berry's and Rainier. Not a difference between either. I use to load 'em over a spit of bullseye and get about 800fps which was plenty fast enough to knock over steel without causing any more than a mild recoil. You don't want a sharp recoil as you want to get on the next target ASAP. In the last year I shot I loaded 'em all with TralBoss powder. That gave the me the most consistent velocities and very low recoils....and steel always fell over.
I hope this helps

Bud, I've never used them but have read that you should treat them as lead (un-jacketed) bullets, not jacketed bullets.

I use them both Berry & Ranier for 9mm & 40 target practice.. Don't carry reloads just factory for carry. Have very good luck with them. I watch the sales Cabelaa & Midway when I start getting low. Just got another 500 Ranier 9MM round nose 115 gr. I use CFE Pistol for both 9mm & 40 cal. ] I haven't noticed any difference in bullets but the Berry comes in a hard plastic box where the Ranier come in cardboard and I had bullets rolling around the last shipping box from Midway.
I should tell you that I'm only shooting at short distance 3, 7, 15 yards.
