I LIKE THEM FOR SHOTGUNS BUT IT GIVES ME THE WILLY'S DRAWING MUCK BACK THROUGH A RIFLE.

Loggy, I bought one of these kits from Midway when they had 'em on sale for $25 www.midwayusa.com/product/115769/hoppes-boresnake-soft-sided-shotgun-cleaning-kit-12-gauge This Hoppes has a "double" wire at the top and it has a spray bottle to spritz on the hoppes cleaner. Two pulls thru the bore and the shotgun is so clean you could eat off of it. I just use a patch (I keep a few in the handy pouch....and that pouch is actually not a POS) to spritz and wipe down the outside of the gun, and then another to use the oil that comes in the kit. Now, before I store the shotgun, I do a "year end" cleaning with rods 'n such. But this is great for the end of day cleaning. I do it before I put the gun in the case, and it only takes 5 minutes while sitting on my truck tailgate. (break-open so no one thinks I'm sitting there with a loaded gun!!) I don't have any for rifles and don't plan on buying 'em for rifles. Dave

I pull a bore snake through the 30-30 every so often. No problems. Breach to muzzle.

Loggy,I don't use bore snakes to really clean anything. However,I usually run one through a couple times prior to shooting just to get any oil out.I feel ok doing that because the bore snake is pretty much clean.

I think they are awesome!! I have them for all my rifles, shotguns, and muzzleloaders.. One or two pulls and the barrel is squeaky clean.

I really like them. They're all I'll run through a .22 bore anymore.

Just bought a Bore Snake for my 12 ga, 22 & 6.5 Swede.
Looks like a well designed product.
Thanks for all the fine input here.
