I was at Cabela's on Monday picking up some gift cards for my crew, and the gun end of the Hamburg store was six deep at the gun counter! Since all of my "assault" weapons are single shot, harken back to the 18th Century, and smell funny after you shoot them, I kept moving past without looking left. Cabela's hadn't sold out of Whitey's Chili, so my lunch was still enjoyable, and I just know I'm going to look spiffy after Christmas in my new, blaze orange, Stormy Kromer hat! I've always envied the "Uppers", now I is one!

Lefty Kreh would've never been caught daid in an FO "stormy" cap.

I think Ole Lefty needs more than a blaze orange Stormy Kromer to improve his looks, and he certainly looks better with a fly rod than a flintlock. I don't think the Stormy people think much of them either since they're being discontinued and are nearly half price!

weeeelllll, Wally World might be out of stuff, but my local pretty things store is not. I got a touch of cabin fever this morning and took a trip out to Keystone Country Store in Fort Loudon. Lots of rifles and handguns, even a few black rifles. Plenty of powder and bullets if you reload. I did talk to the guys and the said business has been brisk. ;D

I stopped at a gun store yesterday. I felt like tomorrow was going to be the PA rifle opener!

It is interesting, isn't it. With the folks in Washington making the statements they are making, I can understand why it is happening. Most of us know that a silly azzed assault weapons ban will just be the beginning of what those who want us disarmed want to get through legislation. The politicians in New York are already talking about confiscation.

I'm pretty much always prepared, even if I did sell my AR some years ago. Replaced it with something I liked even better, so I don't miss it. And one good thing about bein' a pack rat and also having a crummy memory: I keep finding ammo I forgot I had stashed away. Even better when I look at the price tags and realize it cost me half what it costs right now. Whoo hoo! Ain't even here yet and I already feel like I've had three or four Christmasses lately, not counting deer season.

Conversed with a dealer last night, who indicated that they can't keep AR-type rifles or mags in stock at the moment.
Unlike some of the local dealers I've seen on our TV news, some of which have done us "no favors" with their comments, he has refused to be interviewed.
I was somewhat surprised that Walmart began to stock ARs earlier this year. Before that, they were selling Ruger Mini 14s, then about June or July, I noticed ARs in the display cases. The Bushmaster carbine was around $870 initially, then jumped above $900 back in the early fall, still a good price for that model AR. The Ruger Mini 14s were well below what most gunshops were selling them for.
They also have a much better selection of ammo than they had last year, including far more pistol ammo.

Don't know how many 30 round mags my brother bought back in the early 90's when Clinton "banned" everything, but, he will never run out. Of course, they never stopped selling mags, as far as I know.

I still have AR mags and haven't owned an AR in some time. Some 10 rounders from when I shot that thing in competition and at least one or two 30 rounders that some lady had on special years ago, at a gunshow. She was selling them pretty cheap at the time. Later found out they were pretty good mags (British), worth twice what she was selling them for then. Ain't hardly a month goes by around here that I don't find something I forget I had. Seldom find any money, though.

You need to have an auction Denny!
I could use a 10 round mag, as I only have the 30's.
