It's actually picturesque. Cool stuff. When you say "backyard" can you bow hunt it only, or can you hunt it at all?

Is that a shed antlered buck in the third pic or is it broken off? I can't tell. Almost seems like a stub there tho.

I can bow hunt it but it's too close to other homes for rifle hunting, not that it matters because the deer usually only come through in the wee hours of the morning. I have bowhunted it after work when I was short on time and did see a spike once. lol
Dutch the other side is broke off. That was the night before the rifle opener and he is a legal buck, I've been wondering if he made it or not.

You've had that plot for a good while now, right? I remember pics form the other site.
What seems to work best for you in the fall?

I've had this plot going for four years now. Twice in the fall I've planted Shot Plot mixed with oats and the deer would eat the oats out of it and pretty much leave the rest. Last year I planted a mixture of winter rye and wheat and they did eat that fairly well. This is the first year they have really eaten any type of brassica-type plant.
The New Zealand blend has forage rape and kale, and the Acorn Crush has Daikon Radishes and a T-Raptor Rape and Turnip hybrid. So far they're eating everything in the plot. Hands down, spring or fall, the deer around here will eat oats over anything. If there were a variety that wouldn't freeze off it would be gold in these parts. lol

Well I moved the M-80 and broke out the ancient Wildview 2 to stick over the plot. This camera has taken thousands upon thousands of pics over the years and just keeps going. It doesn't take the greatest quality pictures however. In any event they're still hitting it fairly regularly. These are a few from the last time I switched out the card.
