Just wondering how many have tried it around a plot. I just bought a bunch of posts and wire off of Craigslist for a good deal. Now I just need to get a solar charger. Going to do the one fall annual plot for sure and may put it around the corn plot when the ears get close to being ready to help keep the coons out of it until later in the fall. My Dad used it last year around his wintergreens and had good success with it. Before the deer would never allow them to get to their full potential. He didn't do the whole plot and you can see their is a little bit of difference. LOL.

Am I seeing that right, he had it double fenced?

BTW, if you DMAP your area, and get all the regular doe tags, you wouldn't have to fence your brassicas. Trust me, it works in Potter, it'll work for you. LOL

LOL Yes I know you are a big fan of it in Potter. LOL. Yes he double fenced it. Supposed to be quite effective since deer don't have good depth perception they don't like to jump the fence with the 2nd row there.

It worked quite well for him by the way.

Yes, that is why the double fencing works. Without it, they'll just go over a single.
Yes, very effective in Potter. It worked so well I think everyone should "enjoy" it's benefits. LOL

We have a ton of deer where we hunt but if growing conditions are good I've never seen a reason to use a fence. Having farms boardering our property is probably the difference. Seems like a pain to fence though

I can see it working if you double fence it.One 4ft fence won't cut it though.DCNR used to use 12ft electic fencing and I've seen deer go right through it.We fenced a small demonstration exclosure in TL with 5 ft woven wire.It worked for a few months and then the deer actually knocked it over.

Seems like a pain to fence though I never had much issue until this past year. The neighbors didn't have any freshly planted fields and the drought hindered the growth until late. It then never got out of the ground so to speak. Electric fence isn't that bad to put up. A few hours with a couple people is all it would take to fence in a couple acres.

As you can see it works pretty well in the pic. I think my Dad had 1 deer get into the 1 time and that was it. Even if 1 or 2 figure it out that won't hurt it that much. You just need to stop the majority.
