Twenty-some years ago there was a recall on a lot of IMR4831, something I used lots of back then. Checked the lot # on the can that was empty, found it was the recalled lot. IIRC, the recall was due to erratic pressures reported with that lot number?
Most of the ammo loaded from that can, had already been fired with zero issues. The other almost full can was the same #, so kept on using it - also w/zero issues.
I still load 54grs of that powder in my 25-06s w/100gr bullets, because it has proven to be the most consistanly accurate load over the past 35+ years. Was the max load years ago. It's probably the starting load now, given the efforts of industry lawyers to reduce liability?
