Hmmm. Is that one of the new quarantines? I seem to recall that name. Can someone check please?

How does this bounty work with tags? Not sure I want to be around where folks are chasing rogue deer for money. Wonder what the PGC thinks about such bounties?

I fear this is becoming very common now. I said it before and I'll say it again. As more farms are quarantined more deer will 'escape'. Wonder if ag traced this one? Does it come from a q farm? Was it bred to a q farm deer? Leaves too many ?s. access to the net is less than desirable at camp.

It probably doesn't matter, but I'm happy to have my hunting grounds north of the Susquehanna.

Don't think it'll matter before too long?
Lycoming and Tioga counties are already involved. I think the Erway location is the place I pass south of Wellsboro? The guy now has one or two white deer in the pen, next to Rt. 287.

Has my attention and that of some others, but it looks like most could care less at this point?

Well I plan to go to PDA on Monday. I want to know where this deer came from so I will be inspecting the records and making necessary copies. I will of course share that info here

Not going to be able to go to PDA. Had an emergency. Denny, mind running over there and looking up the records on this one (where its from, etc). Something is telling me we need to look at this deer in particular a little closer.

Neville? Hear anything? Or is it crickets there?
In any case, I told two outdoor writers about the rumor and asked them to press ag (pun intended) for details. Time will tell.

According to the latest list of quarantined locations, it appears that this escaped deer did come from one of those deer farms: Freedom Whitetails, in Blair Co.
Although the "county" part does not match up?? Is there more than one county that Freedom Whitetails operates in?

Well, I guess my pressuring ag finally resulted in its quarantine. Good.

Noticed that the poster has edited their name from that solicitation on offering a reward for the escaped deer? Can't recall now it if was Nelson's or Freedom Whitetails? I think Nelson?
Doesn't really matter, as both are on the latest listing.

Travis Rhodes, Freedom Whitetails Denny.

OK, so the skinny is, Travis Rhodes bought the deer from Rutters. He then sold the deer to Nelsons where it escaped clear back in June. They still have their deer; but are BOTH under a 5 year quarantine until that deer is shot and testing is done.
Also hearing lots and lots of fences were knocked down in the last storm. Amazing how that is happening, eh?.

By the way, the response plan calls for all deer to be killed in those farms. They aren't being killed. hmm
Also hearing Ag isn't informing game of much of this- its all "hush hush".
So now we have a deer who has been running around for 5 months with possible CWD. Nice, eh?
