In my walks around Camp Rip-N-Tear, I have seen only one hen with a group of 10 poults. Ususally I can see several in the area. I think the late wet spring wrecked havoc with turkey nesting in my area of 2C. Anyone seeing good hatches?

In our area of 3A, it seems our turkey population has done nothing but decline over the past 10 years. Be it poor hatches, predation or what, we have fewer now than back then.

I live in 4C and the hatches here this summer have been great in my estimation.I saw my first litter of poults May 18th and many ,many more since then. Best year for poult production in a while. ...STEVE

Not to change subject, but, it seems that when I see geese in the spring, litters of goslings seem very small compared to years ago. I often see only 3-4 young with a pair.

I was up in Potter last weekend and turkeys were everywhere. Sunday morning I had 19 in the yard and I would say 17 were poults. It seemed everywhere I went there were birds running around and alot of them were young birds

I only saw one group of poults this year but I wasn't really looking for them either.

I haven't seen any poults up in 3A near camp, but my cousin that lives in the area, has seen a few. Very few. Did see one about the size of a small chicken in 4B. In early JULY!
Nears I can tell, not a particularly good year for turkey reproduction.
