I think the 156 should be fine. I'm thinking the sectional density and BC of that thing should be outstanding. Like a freight train when it hits that bear. I hope. Thats whut im thinkin Brad plus my 6.5 Swede's full stock is much purdier to look at vs my 06's 700's synthetic while sittin in the woods during the slow time... !!! ;D

Loggy, you took the words out of my mouth. Wood stocks are so nice,and I do the same. My deer rifle becomes a lap gun for me to enjoy. My wife bought me a SS Marlin 22mag. for Christmas one year a real nice rifle BUT it sported a black stock. I'm not a fan of black stocked rifles JMO. I had it dipped and it is now Camo'ed much nicer for me. I do go for wood the most but gun makers like to keep price down I guess...

I have a Model 7 in black stock and camoed it this year. Like it much better, but wood is MUCH better than that plastic crap. Those stocks just seem colder to carry in deer season.
