Thought i would post a few pics of my food plot in Potter Co. It was planted on August 6th and I think it looks pretty good for a little over a month.

All I know is it has turnips, peas, buckwheat, and rye. I had Steve Trupe plant it for me

Thought i would post a few pics of my food plot in Potter Co. It was planted on August 6th and I think it looks pretty good for a little over a month. New Project. I would like to put this field back into clover this year. I know I will have to spray and today i went and bought a 30 gal. pull behind sprayer from TSC. I am going to tackle this myself this year to save some money, normally I would have someone else do it but I dont like the $600.00 plus price tag. When should I put my clover mix down, Will frost seeding(if it is frosty)the weekend of April 20th be ok When and what should I spray it with. Any specific clover mix that would work well in the area. Soil sample is good, although I am going to add a little lime and fertilizer in April Thanks for your help

I think you would have been happier with a sprayer that mounts on the atv. That rough soil beats up the tow behinds. It will be early to spray up there. You need green vegetation in order for roundup to work. Tractor supply has good prices on their generic roundup (gly). This year, I'm going to mix some durana clover with ladino I get at G&G Supply in Manheim. I just bought 5 lbs of Durana from here: www.bioplots.com/Durana_Clover_Seed_5lb_25lb.html

Were there a lot of weed present in the brassicas last fall? If not, I'd frost seed now and skip the spraying.
