Well I took advantage of the 65 degree day we had here yesterday. Had some 1x12 rough one side cedar laying around for about 6 yrs and decided to put it to good use before they went down hill and became useless. I made four boxes using the plans from the PGC website. Taking them up to my brothers in northern Potter. He has two man made ponds and a beaver pond. All are in the woods and in perfect wood duck habitat. We are welding two T type metal fence posts together to give us heigh. We are placing them out in the water to keep the four legged critters at bay. All together it took me about 1.5 hrs to put them all together and maybe $20 out of pocket. Hinge/cleanout side...

I heard the ducks got hammered this year with the rough winter. Anyone hear of this?

Nice. I've got ducks but not sure what kind.
Ducks are migratory... Why would they get hammered by winter?

I've heard ducks are starving to death up on the Great Lakes due to ice over. By the thousands.
Nice boxes, we've got them set up all over the place out at my hunt club.

The ducks here are fine, I just returned from Geneva swamp, half the ice is gone and the mallards are every where.
