Guy I talked to yesterday couldn't find some sort of deer cartridge maybe a 30-30? So, when he did find some, and it was a 2 box limit, he went back and bought 6 boxes, due to the erratic supply situation. In his lifetime I bet he'll never shoot those 6 boxes.
I've been waiting on 6.5 bullets since mid November. 100 will do me for years, but it still enters my mind that I should have ordered 2 boxes. I would just contribute to the problem tho.

If you need them in a hurry I have 120 nosler ballistic tips and 130 gr accubonds I'll send you and when you get some you can replace mine, I'm kind of a hoarder when it comes to ammo.

I'm waiting for 140 gr Sierra Spitzer Boattails. I'll get them eventually. I used them for a long time now and really don't want to work up a new load, altho those 130's sound interesting, for sure. What has your experience been with those 130's?

I bought a brick of 22lr Friday that I really didn't need, but you never see them anywhere. I had to buy.

I guess if we ever have a zombie apocalypse I will be kicking myself for not stocking up.

I used to never buy that far ahead either, but the supply situation the last few tears has definitly changed my thinking. My son & I inherited my father in laws stash he had, some of the 22lr shells are over 25 yrs old. They have been firing without any issues, but the nagging thought in the back of my mind while we're using them is how hard will they be to replace.

There is not a reason in the world to not buy extra cartridges every time you can, they don't go bad and certainly won't be getting any cheaper, I certainly don't plan on giving up shooting any time soon.

I never had the money to shoot all the time. Other then shooting my 357 when I first got it I couldn't tell you the last time I just shot for fun.

Buy reloading equipment, used it is very reasonable, and it makes shooting cheaper and more enjoyable, you can buy componantes as you can afford them and stock up till you can shoot regularly.
And with girls growing up I suggest you start buying 22 ammo now, as it gets burned up fast.

I would not feel right buying what I don't need. If someone goes without due to my greed, and that someone would be a grandfather taking his grandchild out, how is that a win for our sport? Unfortunately, there are too many out there buying what they don't need and we have a shortage.

What has your experience been with those 130's? Dutch, I shoot them in a 24" barreled 264 win mag, the 120 shoot so good its scary for a hunting rifle and if you shoot a deer on the shoulder some times you recover the bullet but most times it blows through with less damage than you would expect, with 80-90 of shots under 100 yards and the very high velocity its over kill to say the least, I went to the 130 gr accubonds because bears are in season with deer in NY, and we have some huge ones in the 5-7 hundred pound range and I wanted a better bullet if the opportunity presented its self, so far it hasn't, I have past on several small bears but have yet to see a big one in season, I have shot several bucks with them but have yet to recover a bullet. I'm in the market for a 350 Remington magnum, for the short range performance I'm not getting now, and as I age, a lighter rifle interest me more and more.

Theres no shortage of any thing but 22s and that's cause of hoarding, but there is no reason not to buy two boxes of 30-30's now or any other standard rifle cartridge except maybe 308 because of the black gun nuts hording them also. You buying ammo is not keeping any one that wants to shoot from shooting, in fact I think its irresponsible to not have more than enough ammo to freely burn it up or to share it with your neighbor. You have canned food in your house don't you,so do you feel responsible for world hunger?

I have about 100 rounds of 223. If the kid wants to shoot the AR, I'm not gonna let him sit there and run them off in 3 minutes. I have a couple part boxes of .22's, which probably should be shot just to get rid of them, but at this point, can I replace them?
There is no need for me to have 1000's of rounds sitting there when someone else could use them.

They sit on shelves, yours, mine, or wal-marts, I would rather they sit on mine!
The only loaded ammo I buy are 22's, and we buy them buy the case, always have, I have burned up 10s of thousands as have my family, I have more than enough to get through the Obama administrations stupidity.
Every thing else we load.
