Got a call earlier that Trop Gun Shop now has a variety of 22 ammo in, but may be limited to one brick per person? If anyone down that way is still looking, remember they've moved.

Now where the heck are they? Used to be, (in my youth), they were at the "Tropical Treat" drive-in burger joint on 230. Then Ed Landis, who was a short order cook there in our high school years, ended up owning the gun business and moved it over close to 283. Done a bang up business there.
if ya know Ed ask him about when in high school .... his 60 Chevy that he stripped some chrome from, filled the holes and secretly had it painted "grape" color. I think Rip Rhinehold from Etown did it. Ed's dad, ( a plain gentleman), found out and Ed's Chevy was quickly repainted to a more modest presentation.

BB, the Trop moved up 283 a bit from its former home. Forget the exit, but going towards Lancaster on 283, it should be the exit before their old exit (Rheems?). Much larger set up, including an indoor range, according to what the owner told me on my last trip.
I stopped down there last spring, thanked the owner for supporting the ESOS boycott and bought some ammo while I was there. Last firearm I bought there, was a (slightly) used Springfield Armory 1911A1 pistol, maybe 10 years ago.
I typically get down there at lease once per year and usually on a combo trip. If I needed tractor parts from Messick's, then it also included a stop at da Trop. Bought the IH 184 that I have up at camp at Messick's years ago.

The ammo that you are seeing (.22lr & .223) were orders from the beginning of the year. I have already been told that ammo delivery for 2014 will be worse!!!! .40 & .45 is still difficult. 9mm is still heavily back ordered.

People need to stop the hoarding, its more or less, that simple.
Greedy people are part of the problem.

I find it kind of funny, they hoard the hell out of it, pay to much for it, and then are afraid to shoot it.
heck you can use arrows over and over again.

I was at Cabelas in Wheeling over the weekend. Had plenty of most ammo( .223, .40,.45,9mm etc)- but no .22rf to be seen anywhere. I overheard a gentleman inquiring about some and the clerk said that was still one thing they were having trouble keeping in stock. Things do seem to be slowly improving, I'm starting to see some powder and primers on the shelves now.

Most of the places around here dont have a lot in stockm and what they do have I cont use. LOL Always the way.
