Well the deer didn't read the script, because they came in from the direction that they weren't supposed to and got us pinned down. The one got within 10 yards and sensed something was up. It finally turned enough to offer a shot and Martina made it count. It only went about 100 yards. It was quartering pretty strong so she only caught one lung and the liver. The waiting to go look for it was rough on her. LOL. First deer in her first evening sit. Makes the family happy as well because we have been out of deer meat for two months.

The look on her face says it all, nice job. That deer looks bigger than her!

Congrats to Martina!
I'm looking for photos and stories for the January HTE On Target, so if she'd like to write up a short story on her hunting experience, I'd love to include it.
Just email the photo and story to info@pfsc.org I'll be selecting one of the photos to use on the cover.

The MY program has been a huge success and the doe tag transfer, and now the fall turkey tag transfer have made the program even better.
My hat is off to those that get our kids involved early. The future of hunting is in the hads of our mentors and youth.
That said, I had one of the best days hunting of my life yesterday with Jared, and 11 year old. Unfortunately, we saw no deer. Yeah, this sitting on food plots in blinds is easy. LOL
