Bought some Wildlife Perfect Brassica mix today and also some Groundhog radishes.
Will be putting them in the ground in 2 weeks or so.
I wanted the radishes so they could help aerate and break up the soil in my food plot. All I have is a disc and this might help the soil a good bit. Many farmers here are now using the radishes as a winter cover crop and they also work great to suppress weed growth. Seems they "mine" the subsoil of nutrients, plus the thick leaves, when they get frozen out, create a thick mat on the soil all winter long and keeping weed seeds from germinating in the spring.
I'm just going to mix some in the plot to loosen the soil. Next year, I'll put clover in that plot.
Looking forward to trying them again.
