Holy heavy harvest Batman! My orchard has the most apples I have seen in ten years. We had incredible blossoms for several weeks before the frosts hit. Looks like they were mature enough to survive the cold. Now if I can keep the bears out of them it could be a great year for me and the deer, as we both love apples!

Well, glad to hear it Jim. I think my apples in Potter escaped and most of the blossoms seemed to open just after the freeze. Have not been back to check tho.

WE have a nice crop coming in Potter, not great.
2011 was the biggest crop we ever had.
In the past 4 years, we've had one crop. From 2002 to 2008, always had apples, but the last 4 years, frost has done them in 3 times.

How do you keep the bears out of the trees, they destroyed my peach trees and about 10 apple trees?

These are old standard apple trees. Our bears are smart and lazy, they wait for them to fall. LOL The semi dwarfs that I have, have had bear damage, and it is a mistake to plant them. I would also recommend you shoot more bears!
