Yesterday I was perusing ammo at MidwayUSA and set a bunch of email alerts to notify me when they get a shipment of various ammo. Well here I am this morning, on the computer, and I see the email come in for some 9mm... I click over to the website and the ammo is gone. I mean literally 5 seconds. Maybe 4 seconds.
WTF. I'm getting annoyed.

I confess to liking Midway a lot but having said that, I've been waiting on a back order since 12/24/12 and it took four months to get an order of powder. I realize these are strange times but to be honest I've shifted a lot of my purchasing over to Natchez as they seem to be getting stuff in whereas Midway hasn't. I deleted all my Midway alert emails and now monitor Natchez on a daily basis and I've pretty much been getting stuff I want. I'd suggest checking out Natchez for a few weeks and see if you can't pick up what you need.

Thanks for the heads up! I think we should all share deals / availability when we see it.
That total metal jacket stuff is about double what I'd pay though. An S&H kills it. Aye aye aye...

www.outdoornews.com/June-2013/Shoot-theres-no-ammo-to-buy/"Industry experts can’t say exactly when this shortage will end, but according to NSSF’s Mike Bazinet, this current situation is a supply and demand imbalance that is expected to abate in the near future. In fact, Bazinet says the shortage is easing in some parts of the country already." I was at the range Sunday and a few folks seem to think ammo is becoming more available. Of course, they seemed to be the hoarding types... almost like they make it a job to get out there and make the rounds to get the ammo. Does anyone work?!?! This one guy was proudly talking about how he "waited with his coffee" everywhere every morning and buys out all of the ammo and then lists it on gunbroker.com or somewhere and made some cash. Haha. I mean, I know you can do it, but lame. /maybe I'll hoard when it becomes easy to buy in the future, but I ain't paying double the price or massive S&H online

That is just crazy. Why not send GJI on here a message. He has a gun shop in PA and may be able to get you what you need.

In time, things will get back to normal. Wanna bet? The Obama Administration is about to sign the U.N. Small Arms Treaty.

I've heard about the UN Treaty, but the only reason it would appear to affect my ammo buying ability is because of increases in paranoia about guns being "taken from us" overall. This article you link to makes no mention about ammo, although I do understand a lot of my ammo is made in Brazil, Czech Republic, etc etc. But as far as I can tell, this treaty has nothing to do with ammo production, just fodder for the hoarders (I say that with all due respect, of course). www.snopes.com/politics/guns/untreaty.asp

Stopped at Gander Mountain for my license on my way home and they had Rem 9mm behind the counter for $15.99. Not too bad at .32 cents a round. First time it's been there after work. Sign of things to come?
