Used Wonderlube and Lehigh Valley for years but switched to Ballistol and really like it other than the smell. Just plain ole spit patches for practice.

I use Ballistol as well. I mix one part Ballistol to four parts water, and spread the patches to dry. These dried patches are kept in a zip-lock bag in my Greybear possibles bag.

Whale oil. But the one person I know that still has some, refuses to share any of it. I should probably "unfriend" him, but I've known him since the late 60s, when he learnt me to shoot BP stuff? Started using Maxi Hunters in my trusty ol' 45 cal. Hawken some years ago, so haven't needed any patch lube lately. Contrary to popular lore, they shoot very well in that old critter. 1/66 twist be darned.

I bot some Ballistol after my friend Berks suggested & same here on the smell. The mink oil has lil or no odor. of course it likely less stinky than ole Loggy! ;Dl

Like Denny, I went to a maxi ball. Great Plains bullet from Hornady. Love the things.

I don't use any but I don't really shoot that much. If it doesn't go down I find the nearest tree.
