I have an old school Dremel that I haven't use in a while. When I did I used it a lot for cutting, sanding, grinding. My wife used it to polish her old silver tea set once. I bought the blade sharpener adapter but never got around to using it.
They are are great tool.
I also really like the Kreg Pocket hole Jig.

Those are 4" Grinder uses right there. But, Dremel's have their place.

Yeah, those little cutting wheels on the Dremel disappear pretty fast when cutting.

Most of those Drexel bits are toast after a few seconds of use. They are the most fragile junk

My podiatrist uses one to thin down calluses and toenails. I've had one for about ten years and use it to buff my flintlocks. I remove them from the firearms and give them a once over to keep them in tip top shape. I have a stylus on a long flexible bit that secures to the dremel tool itself so that I can hang the dremel use it just like a pencil.

If you want to quickly screw up a flintlock build, pull out a Dremel.

They have their use, but for me it's rarely, maybe once or twice a year. But thanks for reminding me, I do need some new sanding drums, cutoff grinders, etc.

Do you find many uses for the Dewalt multi tool?? I had to cut out for a door strike plate and it was better than a wood chisel. Had to cut a metal pipe at camp and because I didn't have my Sawzall, the metal blade on the multi tool cut it off. Kinda handy

Getting rid of barbs on fly hooks, Sharpening my chain saw, cutting slots in stripped screw heads, making jewelry for my wife, Cutting steel cable up to 1/2", polishing small metal parts, shaping small wooden carvings and antler pieces. If you're cutting steel, take your time and have spare discs and they will do the job.

Much easier and no worries of cutting the hook.

I used to do that Dave but it can weaken the hook so that it breaks. It's only happened a couple times but, if I'm not using barbless I usually grind a dozen or so at a time. I haven't bought and barbed hooks for a few years. I do use your method if I'm on the stream and the hook I fly I tie on is barbed.
