The first weekend of deer season I was covered up with venison. I hadn't made bologna in a few years so thought it was time for a nice big batch of speed beef bologna. I ground everything up and mixed it on Saturday, left it set overnight and was prepared to stuff it on Sunday. The only problem I had was I needed help and decided to ask my grandson, Noah, if he'd help me. After an emphatic YES, we got started. After showing him the procedure, this little guy did not let me down.
What a great time we had. We talked about squirrel hunting, deer hunting and my bear hunting exploits with Blackbruin's camp a few years ago. I'm taking him target practicing so he gets used to the firearms he'll be using. He's eight years old and I figure that's young enough to start his hunting education. I can't wait to share a hunting blind with him.

I don't have any kids to train in the outdoors. But I still have my adult son to keep an eye on. The other day he texted me "my ramrod (actually mine not his) just broke off. The ball is halfway down the barrel. Can I just shoot it out" 😬😵💫
