I hunted with 7 different hunters, including myself, 1 buck. Season not over yet, see what happens in the true smoke pole season. Camp Rip-N-Tear had 7 regular hunters and a couple of occasionals. Harvested one five-point, two button bucks with very short spikes, and one doe. 57% success rate. As CDB said, season not over yet. Talked to a guy who lives about a mile from our camp yesterday. He and his wife usually both kill bucks, but this year got only one doe.

An interesting observation re Message Board "Success Rates". I have 7 other close hunting friends who I occasionally hunt with and regularly share hunting reports with. NOT ONE has bagged a buck as of yet in the 2023 season. Interesting observation is that not one participates in a Message Board.....infact most don't even know what a Message Board is!! They say they hear their wives talking about Facebook but that's about their extent of internet social media involvement. They do texting & occasional emailing.....that's it.. I guess some "reasonable assumptions" is that those "actively" participating in a Message Boards have success rate far above the normal average. Or there's even a remote possibility that it's mostly successful "net learned" hunters who post and unsuccessful board member hunters who you don't hear boo from......nah!!

The people who live, eat, breathe hunting are the ones on message boards and they are the most successful among hunters. I had a ton of success taking somewhere around 50 big game animals that is until I turned all my hunting attention to Sullivan county. The big woods is proving to be a nut I can't crack

Agree with Moose. The very casual hunters are not the ones on message boards and not the ones consistently killing deer. I do believe that a small percent of our hunters are responsible for a large percent of the harvest on a consistent basis.

Casual hunters make up the majority of the Message Board overall population(NOT POSTERS). Same goes for fishing......I'm friends with some of the very best/avid fisherman who participate in ZERO Message Boards. In fact most don't even know what a message board is. Some text & email but are not into social media.

I don't think fisherman really talk on message boards because talking fishing is boring. I fish more than I hunt but I'd rather watch paint dry than talk fishing

We can agree to disagree on whether very casual hunters actively participate on hunting message boards in large numbers.
