I'm putting three in the mag, one in the chamber. I do remember when I was shooting at a buck in 2017, I was having an issue, now that I think about it.
The 243 had no issues when I was testing loads this week. I was putting three in the mag and shooting three shot groups
Not sure how long it will be until it comes back. I was enjoying shooting it

If you're having a problem this is the fix if the last cartrage fails to chamber.

If you're having a problem this is the fix if the last cartrage fails to chamber. After watching that video I put four in my Creedmoor mag and cycled thru twice. No issues. That said, I actually got four in. My niece said she did, but I never tried it, apparently she's better at it than me. Lol

That’s great, I had to shave the clips on mind and the two grandsons, the last one in the magazine would hang up every time. I have 3 supposedly new designed clips on order from MidwayUSA. We will see what’s different, but looking at the photo I’m skeptic.

I think I'll just carry an extra loaded magazine. I did have one drop out of my Predator in 2017.

Figured if I can’t get the job done with one in the chamber, a full clip in the gun and another full clip in my pocket, time to get out of whatever I got into..😁

I used to carry two mags for my Remington 760. I got 8 shots off at my first buck I remember years ago listening to a gun rack off 10 rounds the first day of rifle. I was in the big woods, but on the edge of farm country. Fifteen minutes later, the same gun, same location, ran off 10 more. My guess is he had a 760 with a 10 round mag

The rapid-fire clip emptying used to be a common thing around here when there were a couple large groups of guys that used to get together and drive every unposted piece of property during the three day doe seasons and then the second week of buck.

it's been years but whenever I'd run into a guy with a 760 with see through mounts and a cheap Tasco,I'd immediately have bad thoughts about him. Then again,I am an elitist chest thumper.

My first scope was a Tasco. We had a big snow fall the Sunday before the Monday opener, there was snow hanging off every tree, bush, and blow down. Got confused trying to get to my stand and just sat down looking down the mountain at daybreak. Shortly after daybreak saw a Buck headed up the mountain, raised the rife and looked through the scope, couldn't see a thing. Cleaned off the lens and still couldn't see anything. The Tasco went into the garbage can that night.

I've taken Tasco scopes for Moose and Pronghorn not to mention plenty of hunting back home. Never a problem

Well, the gun is on its way back to Ruger I went to chamber a round yesterday and the firing pin assemble pops out the back of the bolt!!! I was so shocked, and pulled it out, and then the bolt handle fell out as the firing pin assembly goes thru the bolt handle. I have no idea what happened, but immediately to it to the shopi bought it at. Hopefully Ruger will figure it out. All I need really is a new bolt, IMO. Agree....sounds like only the bolt needs replaced. Never had a new gun purchase fail other than back in the 70's had a 2 year old Rem 700 bolt freeze-up. I threw-up on a buck, squeezed trigger & firing pin just barely made a small dent on primer. Cycled another round & same thing. I put bolt in pant pocket for about and hour & gun then fired. Buck didn't have the patience to hang around though! Later cleaned bolt & it was packed with thick grease which the zero degree weather made stiff causing firing pin not to function properly.

Well, to update this thread, I was shooting the Ruger on December 16, when, as I tried to chamber a round, the firing pin mechanism simply popped out the back of the bolt. I was so freaked out by it, immediately took it back where I bought it. Shyda's in Lebanon took the gun and immediately sent it back to Ruger.
I picked it up today and the sheet said they repaired the bolt, then fired it 12 times with no failure. So, fingers crossed that is never gives me trouble again. Looking forward to shooting it again, once I get back from Montana next week.

Keep us updated, on the bolt problem along with the cartridge feed problem. I think I got the cartridge feeding issue fixed on mine, but won't know until I do some live firing. Something I hope to do in the next couple of weeks. The magazine feed issue is something Ruger needs to fix on these first generation guns.

Well, I finally got to shoot my last group today. 15/16th inch. That will be fine. 80 grain Barnes TTSX, 42 grains of 4350.
