I had the Jeep Cherokee packed for the trip to Deerfield Plantation, but a problem arose. Ms. Doris tried to get up to go to the bathroom and fell, early Friday morning. She couldn’t get up and had to crawl there. Of course the first thing we suspected was another stroke, but this was not the case. After a visit to the emergency room and subsequent admission, a battery of tests and a whole lot of poking and prodding, a stroke was ruled out. We are coming to the conclusion that she had a reaction to the latest Covid shot we both received on Thursday, October 19. The obvious thing for me to do was cancel the trip south. Hugh Walters, the owner of Deerfield, told me we could reschedule for a later date. We hoped Ms. Doris could be released from the hospital and come home soon. I guess I'm done hunting for awhile, but she comes first. You don't replace a good wife like her at WalMart.

Prayers for a quick and complete recovery for your wife. It's a good thing it didn't happen while you were away. Life certainly has a way of changing our plans in the blink of an eye.

Ms. Doris is home and resting. She still feels tired, even after a day in the vacation spa she calls Chambersburg Hospital. She is in the care of our two dogs, who love her, and the household stuff is being done by yours truly. We have come to the conclusion that she had a reaction to something, probably our latest Covid vacccine we got on Thursday. I had no ill effects from it, but this is a bit too much of a coincidence for me, since I don't ususally give much for coincidences. This will probably be the last Covid shot we get. Trust me when I say I am not one of those anti-vaxxers. I am just a bit skeptical on this particular one.

Glad to hear your W1fe is doing fine. The same thing has happened to me twice under the same circumstances. The first time was spring of 2022, after a tick bit that was positive,Wife called for the ambulance. By the time they got here I was backup and moving and all vitals were good. Second time was this July, when I had Covid, after crawling to the bathroom, cleaning myself up, and 15 minutes time line I was fine. Mentioned it to my back surgeon if it was connected to my surgery, he said probably. Both viruses attacked my nerves in lower back. I’m now seeing a chiropractor and doing PT for the back, between the two it seems to be working some. Legs aren’t hurting as much an I’m able to walk a little further. Lower back pain is also not as severe since I started sleeping in the recliner. The wife and I have both decided we’re going to pass on this year’s Covid shot too.

Mutt....best wishes for a full & complete recovery for your Mrs. Two weeks ago both the Mrs & I got our flu shots & the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccines. No unusual reactions outside if some minor achy muscles and tenderness at vaccination jab area. Good you both got vaccinated as at my RRT Daughter's hospital group they have been averaging 70 percent occupancy of ICU beds w/Covid diagnosis.

Thanks for the good thoughts, folks. Ms. Doris is feeling much better now, and says I can go to camp Wednesday. We shall see. I ain't leavin' 'til she's good to go.
No new puppy, Doug. We have two dogs now, and they both love her dearly. One of the dogs, Kota, is just two years old. If he lives to be 12, we will both be 96. It may have been a mistake to give him a home.

I may not be Aristotle, but doing the math, you two are both 86 now ?

Forgive a mistake, fleroo. We are 82. If he lives ten more years we will be 92.

Negative 4 on ones age calculation, is generally always a positive mistake !
