Ya know, this is the cynical part of me, but they really don't care. It's a state agency that has a track record of doing whatever they want.
I was a supporter of them, but now, I just am disgusted by them, overall

Their locations leave alot to be desired. The only one on the Western Side of the state is in Erie. Then 2 in the far east. You would think they would have had 1 in West, 1 in central and 1 in East. Then pick a location somewhat in the center of those regions.

They don't care what anyone thinks unless you are agreeing with them

I wanted to say something earlier, but didn’t, because Dutch doesn’t want anything political, but this is. First off the PGC is political. Second every place these meetings are be held is a democrat stronghold. I agree with cspot the locations leave a lot to be desired.

Easy enough to forward to PGC suggestions for improvements such as locations etc. I’m forwarding a suggestion to livestream the Town Hall Meetings or post to the PGC YouTube page.

Commissioners used to value the input from hunters. No longer.............. These Town Hall Meetings offer a chance to air your concerns FTF. These meetings all will feature question-and-answer sessions that aim to clearly explain any issues participants want to ask about.
Game Commission Executive Director Bryan Burhans said he’s looking forward to speaking with the public at these town hall meetings.

Unlike the commissioners, and especially my commissioner, Bryan doesn't seem to mind conversation and input from sportsman. Yes, there are a few outliers where some commissioners do reach out, but there is no doubt that disengagement with sportsman and sporting groups/orgs has been increasing over the past 10 years. That is a shame. My commissioner has never once responded to messages from myself and others that I know in my area during his entire term.

I could have told anyone this. When they changed the opener and went against their own survey it told me so. Then they even went and made up a PowerPoint saying how great of a decision it was when the data said otherwise. It was changed for a few people and a few only imo. Somebody in their inner circle wanted it.

The last Saturday last year looked like the opening days of years ago to the point I was in shock with the amount of hunters I saw.

........plus Bear Season is now also open first week(& some both weeks) of Regular Deer Season for 11 major Bear WMU's. Current opportunity is far greater and spread over many days vs years ago when having only the 3 traditional days(Mon-Weds before Thanksgiving).

I hear many bItching & moaning about our PGC. I started hunting back in 1964 so have had a chance in the last 60 years to formulate my opinion on the PGC. When I started hunting you basically were limited to one buck & one doe. You were even lucky to draw a doe tag in many counties. 3-Day Doe Season with no concurrent seasons. Plus archery season only ran for 4 weeks ending last week of October(NO RUT HUNTING). Also, xbows were only allowed with handicap permit. Bear Season was only 3 days. Zero Sunday Hunting days allowed. Spring Gobbler Season was less days vs today plus no xtra tags. No full day Spring Gobbler like we have 2nd half of season. These are just a mere few of the expanded hunting opportunities that quickly came to mind. My point is that today we hunters in PA have far, far more hunting opportunities vs in prior years which in my opinion is what's most important....more time afield to enjoy our sport!! Sure....nothing is perfect nor will ever be. Overall.....I give the PGC credit to improving our hunting sport with such expanded opportunities far more than I ever dreamed of when starting out hunting in 1964. Just putting things in perspective....sorta like the stock market there's ups/downs but the overall ups prevails over a sustained period!!

You can have all these expanded opportunities. Give me back the old days when guys hunted together and there was camaraderie. These days everybody goes solo and sits their ass in a stand

Some hunted SGL and some various SF areas. We rarely put on drives. We had "camaraderie" at camp before and after the days hunt. I know my Dad & I always hunted a similar area but when we left the truck in the morning darkness I wouldn't see Dad until evening darkness. We all have our methods & types of "camaraderie"....that was our camp's. Today I do the same with my friends at bordering camp.

You can have these days of hunting when everybody is running trail cams to help pick out their target buck and G2's mean more than backstraps. Everybody thinks they're some kind of Outdoor Channel pro staffer and the only acceptable way to take a buck is recurve, longbow, and compound. Rifles are only supposed to be used to fill Doe tags. Give me a time machine to when I can go back to helping an old timer dressed head to toe in hunter orange drag his spike buck out

Yep…….in our ole camp during the plaid Woolrich/hot seat era one who hung a spike on the buck rack received as robust of a CONGRATS as if it were an 8 pointer and if spike required a challenging shot….even more!! Oh how things have changed.

Thanks to the PGC,we have opportunities that I never dreamed possible in 1980.Hunting is dying for sure but it's a casulty of a changing society, not the PGC.
