I shot 50 rounds of the new Goex 3F powder today. It was fast, consistent and clean. Absolutely no complaints here. It was as clean as Swiss and performance is close to the same. That's good news in my opinion.

I haven't done a side by side test of this powder versus the other brands out there but this stuff looks to have a slightly smaller granule size, in my opinion, than other 3F powder.

Good report Dan!! I see Goex now comes in a plastic container vs the old metal can. Did you get regular Goex or Goex's Olde Eynsford premium grade black powder?

A friend purchased the powder and he invited me out to try it. It was the regular Goex.

I never tried the premium Olde Eynsford black powder only regular Goex. I understand that it even has less fouling because OE uses Alder wood for the charcoal portion of the powder as opposed to poplar wood used in Goex. I believe that Swiss brand powder also uses Alder wood.

A recent/interesting GOEX video which discusses the return of Goex, Old Goex vs New Goex, shipping status etc. Reported that FIRST new Goex shipment was September 8, 2023.

Did you use it as pan powder as well ? If so, do you get consistent ignition ?
I know there's more than just powder considerations to achieve consistent and timely ignition. But, I'm looking to get away from 2F in the pan, as it's a pain in the azz to try and keep from gumming on most days I seem to hunt.

I always use 4F in my pan, and mix it with a product that RMC carries, they call it Wonder Power. Seems to help some in keeping the power dry on high moisture days.

Glad they are back in production, but I'm good. I bought 5lbs before they shut down.

I've done the same now for 50 years. Never had a problem.

The 3fg granulation has a grapite glazing that makes it's use in the pan more resilient to moisture absorption vs 4fg. Ignition has always been excellent. I only use Swiss but heard the same for Goex.

I meant to say I use 4F in the pan. 2F down the pipe.
