Too much hate in this world due to politics. Since I retired, I decided I wanted peace in my life. Figured the political nonsense just raised my blood pressure.

Wednesday evening my boss and I went shooting sporting clays trap. I had never done it before. Scared the crap out of me just watching those birds fly!
Rich and I had a blast. A lot of good natured ribbing, and we managed to break a few birds.
Today, I bought a case of shotgun shells. We planned to go again this Wednesday, but I have to work.
I've decided life is too short. The political BS I have no control over, and I'm going to find peace and happiness.
Shooting birds with a friend is a part of my future peace

Do you have a $5000 shotgun and fancy duds? Or do you just go redneck?

The problem with getting into anything new is there eventually are new purchases that will improve comfort, or gain an edge. Before you know it! $$$$

That depends on the shorts. Cargo or daisy dukes for examples.

I hope you and your brother can keep it going. It is good times. A club decided to have a simple 22 shoot with the idea for everyone with an old open sighted 22 to get it out and shoot for dimes. It wasn't long before the high priced target ammo began to show up and then the 22 target rifles. One was a CZ built for a competitive team. It had both front and rear movable sights and a 30 inch barrel. Needless to say, the fun was gone for most and participation died off.

I can still remember a day when a lot of us were there with modified chokes. Now it's all these custom block shoot guns

I know they make special barrels for it, but I don't know what a block shoot is

You shoot for prizes. Turkeys, hams, meat trays. I shot a lot of them. But it's hard to compete anymore. You shoot a card

I shot some "Block Shoots" where you shot a paper square card mebbie 4"x4" with a diagonal "X" on it(some rifle & some shotgun). I know in the ole days they always had one at the Forksville Fairgrounds the Sunday(day) before Monday Deer Opener. Always drew a big crowd. 10 shooters would shoot per round @100yd card and closest to X center would win a turkey. Many years ago....when I used to be a "good" shot I won a turkey with my ole Rem 700 270. Still have my winning card in camp.

10 was light. Normally it's 25 shooters per round
