Interesting "stuff" Loggy. I have an app on my phone called "Ballistic AE" where I input all relative data (the app list for my selection, the bullet by maker which then has the Ballistic Coefficient and Drag model) including velocity as measured by my Chronograph. The app has the option to calculate "Spin Drift" and the interesting thing about that is you must input the projectile length in order for the app to calculate the effect of spin drift. However, for "normal" Pennsylvania hunting distances, it's not something to be concerned about. A .02" wind drift at 200 yards will still get the heart\lungs and end up being a good shot!! Numbers Loggy!! Honestly, when I was forced to quit working by my malady I really got into reloading and ballistics because of the "numbers" involved in it. Way more fun than reading tax code!!!

LOL!! Whut the hecks a tax code anyways Dave!! They sure fill-up those recyling bins!! From my reading on the 6.5's "spin drift" is anywhere from 6-9 inches @1,000 yards. At 200 yards on a 100 yd zero....less than an inch. I did some 200 yd shooting before my PA Elk Hunt but in PA almost 100% of my shooting is well inside 100 yards. I did notice that my 200 yard groups were alway a lil to the right.......now I know it was most likely "Spin Drift" vs "Loggy Drift"!! Wunder whut Board's Ballistic Expert thinks about this?

A lil more spin!! I did the calc on a 6.5 bullet, MV of 2,725 and the difference with spin drift calculated in was 7” at 1,000 yds. A 140gr Hornady ELD match bullet. That’s significant at that distance.

Silly me I thought this was going to be about the Mainstream Media In a sense a correlation.... as most common spin drifts are due to a right twist tube!!

Silly me I thought this was going to be about the Mainstream Media In a sense a correlation.... as most common spin drifts are due to a right twist tube!! But that's only a-cause you don't know who has a left twist barrel!!
