Over the holidays I was at a family gathering where they deep fried a turkey plus did one in the coventional oven. The deep fried bird disappered long before the oven roasted!! I love turkey done anyway but i tell ya...that deep fried one was outstanding! It got me thinkin (which is normally dangerous/plus normally expensive too! ;D) which lead to me buying a deep fryer. I havent used it yet but it will also serve in steaming crabs, clams etc. I went with the Bayou Classic. Seem commercial in quality built for he long haul. Anyone into deep frying turkeys etc??

I had deep fried turkey ONCE, and it is, by far, the BEST way to do turkey.

Best way to fry them is in peanut oil!!!! Be careful though I saw an inferno from one of these things a couple years ago at my cousin's get together the fire was probably shot 6-7 ft into the air the turkey wasn't dry enough or it was still frozen.

Never put a frozen bird in hot oil. It explodes.
